Show Wilma Marshall Peterson SANDYTROPIC Wilma Marshall Peterson passed away following fol-lowing a valiant battle with cancer Mar. 7, 2000 in her home. The daughter of Maurice Miles and Eva Dell Talbot Marshall, she was born Aug. 31, 1932 in Tropic. She married Doyle A. Peterson Sept. 11, 1953 in Redmond. Wilma was a loving mother, wife and she especially loved her grandchildren. She loved to quilt and was an avid golfer. Her love and memory will continue con-tinue to live on with her family, her husband, Doyle A.; children, Cynthia (Rod) Mathews, Jeff Peterson, Peter-son, John (Shelly) Peterson and Shela (Jon) Barker; grandchildren, Amanda, Roxanne, Amber, Clayton, Clay-ton, Kyle, and their spouses; Dillon and Brooke; great-grandchild, Nate; brothers, Donald Marshall, the late Leland Marshall and sister Mona Jean Savage; and mother Eva Marshall. Kent David Petersen PANGUITCH Our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Kent David Petersen, Peter-sen, 60, of Panguitch, passed away March 12, 2000, in Panguitch. He was born June 29, 1939, in Penrose, Pen-rose, Utah, to Leonard and Eva Howard Petersen. He married Kathleen Kath-leen Allen, June 29, 1973 in the Manti LDS Temple. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, Kath-leen, of Panguitch; children, Amy P. (Michael R.) Berrett, Riverton; David Kent Petersen, Daniel Kent Petersen, Cindy Petersen, all of Cedar City; grandchildren: Michael Christian Berrett, McKenzee Elizabeth Eliza-beth Berrett, Madisen Jane Berrett; brothers and sisters: Fred (Lujuana) Petersen, Dee (Tedee) Petersen, Myrna (Lou) Merrill, Jerry (Audry) Petersen, Mark (Kathelene) Petersen, Peter-sen, Roxie (Steve) Butler, Nord (Nancy) Petersen, Bryce (Polly) Petersen, Wade (Rosie) Petersen, Leonard (Kathie) Petersen. GEORGE - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather great-grandfather and friend Orson Fred Hatch, 79, passed away Mar. 5, 2000 at his home in St. George, with his wife and loved ones at his side. He was born Feb. 17, 1921 in Panguitch. He is the eldest son of Orson Wilbur and Elizabeth Lynn Hatch of Panguitch. His parents moved to southern California where he attended school until age 9 when he moved back to Panguitch where he lived until he graduated from high school. He played on the "A" basketball team for Garfield High School. He was the student body president his senior sen-ior year. He graduated in 1939 from Garfield High School and the LDS Seminary program. He had a pleasant personality and was liked by everyone. His sweetheart, Audrey Barton of Paragonah, spent her summers in Panguitch with an aunt where they met and continued a courtship until they married May 31, 1939. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Jan. 12, 1945. Fred was a rancher, farmer (Paul, Ida.) and tunnel construction worker. He retired after traveling throughout the United States on many hydroelectric and subway tunnel construction projects such as the BART in San Francisco, Calif., and the Metro Transit System in Washington, D.C. He served his country in the United States Army in the Philippine Philip-pine Islands in World War II leaving leav-ing his dear wife and two daughters in Paul, Ida. Fred was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings, including as an ordinance or-dinance worker in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple. Fred worked hard all his life and instilled his work ethics in his children and grandchildren. He taught his family ' UK t f ' 1 f - A . i ' '$ O. Fred Hatch by his example and touched many lives. He was a kind and gentle man ever so patient. He had a deeply embedded testimony testi-mony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and an unsurpassed love of family and country. After retirement, Fred and Audrey were inseparable. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Fred is survived by his wife, Audrey of St. George and his children: chil-dren: Opal Dean (John) Hopson of San Jose, Calif.; Sharon Louise Giles of Logan; Rulon Fred (Donita) Hatch of Pocatello, Ida.; and Elizabeth Dale (Dan) Johnson of Santa Clarita, Calif. Fred and Audrey have 22 grandchildren grand-children and 36 great-grandchildren. His parents and his younger brother, Homer T. Hatch (World War II - Saipan), preceded Fred in death. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 9, 2000 in the Green Valley LDS Stake Center, in St. George. Interment was in the Paragonah Cemetery with full military honors. Kate Heywood Church PANGUITCH Funeral services serv-ices for Kate Heywood Church were held Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2000 at the Panguitch 1st Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Evan Boshell officiating. officiat-ing. The family prayer was offered by Donald J. Eyre, Jr., a grandson, and prelude and postlude music was played by Karran Harris, Barbara Orton, and Barbara Leach. The invocation was offered by Steven Eyre, a grandson. Robert Tidwell, a grandson-in-law, sang "In The Garden," accompanied by Barbara Heaton, and tributes were given by Valerie Rowley, a granddaughter, grand-daughter, and Gary Church, a grandson. grand-son. Amanda Hoyt, ,a . great-granddaughter, great-granddaughter, sang "The Test," accompanied by Lisa Eyre Brough and a tribute was given by Bishop Brent Eyre, a grandson. Remarks were made by Bishop Evan Boshell and the congregation sang "The Wintry Day, Descending To Its Close," accompanied by Barbara Bar-bara Heaton and directed by Karran Harris. The benediction was offered by DeWitt Heywood, a nephew. Pallbearers were grandsons Mark Church, James Eyre, Richard Church, Bruce Church, Dolph Church, David Church, and great-grandsons great-grandsons Eric Moore and Nathan Moore. Honorary pallbearers were greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Interment was at the Panguitch Cemetery and the dedication of the grave was offered by Bishop Val D. Church, a son.
