Show Tropic .tews By Lynn Munson 679-8627 LaMar and Ethel LeFevre were recently in Moapa Valley, Nev. for the funeral of Mary Singer. She was in the LDS Relief Society presidency with Ethel when they lived in Las Vegas, 'Nev. They spent several days with their sons Lynn, Les and Clarke and their families in Las Vegas. They also visited with sister Margene Moore in St. George. They spent a few days home then returned again to St. George where LaMar had surgery sur-gery on his wrist. Gail and Bonnie Miles were in Cedar City last Sunday for the blessing of grandson Korbin Ferris. His proud parents are Kip and Carrie Car-rie Ferris. Dixie Shakespear spent the weekend with Nolan and Arvon Button and family in Kanab. Daughter Arvon took Dixie to St. George where they attended funeral services for Helen Cannon, the wife of the late Ellis Kay Cannon, who was related to the Shakespear fam-ily. fam-ily. ' In LDS Sacrament meeting, two young men were advanced in the Aaronic Priesthood: Christopher Brown as a Priest and Cody Brown as a Teacher. They are the sons of Bob and Beverly Syrett. Lonnie Pollock and Gerald Pollock were released as Stake High Councilman, j Layne LeFevre and Gail Miles were ! sustained in their places. Sydney was here for a week on her spring break from business college in Phoenix, Ariz. April Johnson, daugter of Moyle and Tracy Johnson, was also home from the same college in Phonix. April was very happy not only to see her parents, but to see her new fiance Riley Roberts. The couple was engaged over the spring break holiday. Now that is a great vacation! Congratulations! Rob and Melinda Dotson had a baby girl on Mar. 2 in Cedar City. She was named Shelly Camille and she has three siblings to welcome her to the family. Proud grandparents grandpar-ents are Richard and Marie Dotson, Cedar City, and Jim and Louise England and great-grandma Ora Brinkerhoff, all of Tropic. Gayle Pollock, who works for the Bryce Canyon Natural History Association, attended a 'convention in Alaska for 10 days. Other employees em-ployees attending from the Bryce area were Fred and Donna Fager-gren, Fager-gren, Debbie Cantu, and Rob and Mary Danho.- They attended lots of meetings and trade shows and saw lots of the beautiful scenery. They saw the start of the Iditerod dog sled race. The NHA holds these conventions conven-tions every two years at different national parks. Charlie and Eva Dean Francisco recently spent a week in St. George at the LDS temple. Last weekend, granddaugter Sheri Ann, daughter of Sharon and Robin Griffin of Monroe, Mon-roe, had a great visit with her grandparents. One of the highlights of the visit was a sleepover with friend Kaycee Cox at aunt Sandrea Francisco's house! Shirley Haycock's son and daughter-in-law Richard and Connie Haycock of Moab were here for a visit. They enjoyed a nice lunch with Shirley and sister Sandra Cox. Visiting several days with Adrian and Glenna Pollock were daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Grant LeFevre of Bountiful. They always enjoy their visits with their parents. Ben and Luana Riddle were in , Cedar City to see a doctor. They ' were very grateful to arrive home before the storm hit on Wednesday night. |
