Show E. Clinton "Red" Coombs A funeral was held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in Zeller Chapel of the Roses for E. Clinton "Red" Coombs who died of Leukemia Feb. 12 at age 77. Mr. Coombs was born May 2 1 , 1921, in Teasdale, Utah, the son of Ephraim H. and Florence Mary Coombs. He grew up in Boulder. He served in .the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to the Portland area in 1945 and married Mary Manthey of that city in 1946. A mechanic, he worked for Consolidated Con-solidated Freightways for 40 years until retiring about 1987. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Portland, Ore.; son, Douglas J. (Karen), of Beaverton, Ore.; brothers Kay (Merle) of Moroni; Larry (Carol) of Monroe; Anthony (Dot) of Manila; and Vard (Mary Jane) of Boulder; sisters Eva (Eugene) Whitaker of Cedar Ridge, Calif.; Sarah May Miller of Joseph City, Ariz.; Karen (Paul) Cramer of Stevens ville, Mont.; Elaine (Uvon, j- - K, v. i ' " .' 4, i , .! Clinton "Red" Coombs deceased) of Boulder; Theresa Coombs of Sunnyvale, Calif.; Anne (Karl) Spencer of Escalante; and Mary (Richard) Lyman of Bountiful; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Interment was in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. |
