GEORGE — It took a unique set of circumstances to get Sarah Hardcastle of St. George and Brian Kilpatrick of Akron, Ohio, together. “Fate brought this lovely couple together, noted ReNee LeGrant, Hardcastle's grandmother. She is the designated storyteller because the couple has returned to Germany. While the two were serv- ing in the military, in widely separated places, they were injured and were medivacked to Germany for treatment and rehabilitation. Kilpatrick was serving in Iraq and broke his foot during a combat mission. He wasnt able to get immediate medical attention and the condition of his foot worsened before he was ‘taken to Bamburg, Germany, for care. Hardcastle was serving as a cook in Afghanistan and suffered a grand mal seizure while she was there. She had originally suffered a blow to the head while serving at Fort Irwin, Calif. She, too, was taken to Bamburg for care because there was no equipment for an MRI in Afghanistan. “She didn’t know her way around and asked him for directions; LeeAnn. Jones, Hardcastle’s mother, said of their initial ene in Germany. The relationship grew from: that first contact and the couple married at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club on Gct. 17. Hardcastle joined the Army about five years ago.
