Show My ton News by Grace Dalgleish Ronald (Butch) Fenn, son of Mr and Mrs. Aldon Fenn, a member of the U.S. Marines, Mar-ines, visited his parents last week as he was enroute to San Diego, California. He will then go to Ft. Pendleton, Oregon, for further training before going overseas. 'Mrs. W. H. Link was hostess hos-tess to members of the Monday Bridge Club last Monday afternoon. after-noon. The group enjoyed a delicious dessert luncheon and an afternoon of bridge. Present Pre-sent were Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mrs. Clair Larson, Mrs. Viola Harmston, Mrs. J.D. Walker, Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs. Grace Dalgleish and Mrs. J. Wesley Jensen. High score prizes were awarded to Mrs. Ashton and Mrs. Linck. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer and family came from Tonga, California, to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Chandler in Myton and his mother, Mrs. Frank Meyer in Bridgeland, during dur-ing the past week. They left on their return trip to Calif. Sunday. The Myton L.D.S. Ward Chapel was the scene of activity Saturday when members mem-bers of the ward painted the interior of the Chapel. The Art Club members were guests at the ranch home of Mrs, A. F. Henriksen, one afternoon last week. Sketching Sketch-ing oil and water color designs de-signs were the diversion during the afternoon. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess to Mrs. Lionel Babcock, Mrs. Gareth Anderson, and Mrs. EldwinWalL County Commissioner, Wilmer Murray, and Mrs. Murray visited Artesia (Dinosaur), (Dino-saur), Colorado, Thursday to spend the day with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Murray and family and transacted business while enroute. On Friday they drove to Price to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. John Tucker and three children. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ross are the proud parents of an infant son born Saturday, March 19, at the Roosevelt hospital. The proud paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross, who now boast 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A large congregation was in attendance at the Presbyterian Church at 11 a. m. Sunday to greet Rev. John M. Wade, Protestant Campus Pastor, from the University of Utah and who is also the Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Utah. The sermon, "To The Beat of a Different Drum", was presented pre-sented by Rev. Wade to bring to each member of the congregation con-gregation a very special message. Accompanying Rev. Wade were Miss Susan GiUpa trick of Salt Lake City, John Carlson of Washington and Heila Woldemikael of Ethiopia, all students at the U. of U. At the close of the service, the members of the congregation greeted the visitors and all enjoyed refreshments. Sunday 11 a. m. services on March 27th will be conducted by members of the Christ Methodist Church of Salt Lake City at the Presbyterian Church. A cordial invitation is extended to all. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Zirker and niece, Pamela Zirker, and Mrs. Kenneth Zirker, former for-mer Myton residents now living at Warden, Washington, were visitors in this area during the weekend. They came to Utah to be present at the wedding wed-ding of Eddie Zirker who was married in the L.D. S. Temple in Salt Lake City last week. The young groom and Pamela are son and daughter of Ed Zirker who resided here many years prior to leaving for Washington. Wash-ington. Mrs. Kenneth Zirker is a sister of Mrs. Marion Ross of Myton and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shields of Roosevelt. While here the visitors had the opportunity to greet many of their old friends. Mr. and Mrs. Max Peat-ross Peat-ross are the proud parents of an infant son born Friday, March 18th, at the Roosevelt hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Todd enjoyed a visit from their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Todd and small son who came from Salt Lake for a long weekend returning home Tuesday. The Myton American Legion Leg-ion Hall was gay Saturday evening when members from Jensen, Vernal, Altonah and Roosevelt joined the Wm. .R. Sands Post 5 of Myton to ! celebrate the 47th anniversary of the American Legion. Dancing and box lunch supper furnished entertainment for the evening. LaVor Dennis returned home from Salt Lake Thursday accompanying his wife who drove to Salt Lake to bring him home. Mr. Dennis recently re-cently was injured when his horse fell, crushing his leg. He underwent surgery in a Salt Lake hospital and later convalesced at the home of his daughter before he was released to return home. His many friends are pleased with his steady improvement. |
