and an attorney elected carried mr andersun placed in nomination the nanie name of samuel A merritt for city attorney for the term and he was unanimously elected A messenger was dispatched to ap apprise rise mr merritt of lily his election the re committee on rules and regular order of business asked until tuesday february 25 in which to make their report granted the standing committees were then announced by the mayor they appear elsewhere the recorder was instructed to furnish each member of the council with a list of the standing committees to W R jones jr asked to be reimbursed imbur sed in the sum of 25 for loss of time in waiting for an abstract of title from the city mr pembroke I 1 move that we pay that claim A member but it should be referred to a committee on claims and it
