Show OBITUARY NOTES PRENTON THOMAS MOREHEAD died at smithfield cache on may 3 1895 of heart lailure failure preston thomis thomas morehead son aon of james madison morehead More bead and elizabeth T thomas born in kemper county mississippi ippi I 1 september 28 1837 embraced the gospel in the year 1845 emigrated to lehi utah county in 1850 and moved to smithfield Smith neld in 1861 where he lived a true and faithful latter day saint until the day of his death he filled many offices of trust with honor and dignity he was ordained a high priest and second counselor to bishop samuel on june fth v 1877 by elder moses thatcher and was wa set apart as first counselor to bishop george L farrell farrel I 1 on june 12 1881 which position he filled to 10 the best of his ability to the day of his death he also filled the office of mayor of smithfield Smith neld city lor for ten years also county selectman for three years he ahks left a large family and a host of friends to lo mourn his bis loss communicated ELIZABETH T M housekeeper died may 5 1895 at milburn sanpete county utah of old age elizabeth thompson morrow housekeeper daughter of james and sarah morrow she was born april 26 1806 at norristown delaware county pennsylvania and came to utah with wilh her husband john housekeeper in 1852 she resided at provo pro vo city also at payson and at I 1 be latter place her husband died january since that time she has lived respectively ively at fairview Pair view and milburn in sanpete county she has baa seven children thirty grandchildren and fifteen great she was a kind slid and loving ino tifer and a faithful latter day saint she passed six aix months of her life in crossing cr the great plains on her wa way y to utah and ana endured the hardships and privations of the early settlers in utah although she was in her year she was wa 4 able to walk about until two days previous to her death she had been promised by the servants of the lord that she should live as long as she desired blie often expressed a desire to die the hymns god moves in a mysterious wa way y his wonders to perform and who are these sit rayed in white were sung by her own request at the funeral servi services cep which were held may eth 1895 communicated ALICE HALLOWELL ELLISON died in nephi city april 19 1895 alice hallowell ellison Eli ison the ibe beloved relict of james Ef El liBon floon sister ellison elbison was born in orrell L lancashire a n ca england april 16 1811 was married in june 1840 at the age of 29 embraced the gospel and wati was baptized into the church march eth 1851 emigrated from her native land in january jannary 1853 arriving in salt sal lake oily october 6 b h 1853 her husband jain james i es ellisio Ell isoo with his family resided resided t A Kay eville utah until we the time of the move when they came south and made their home ow in nephi where here they have resided ever since she outlived her husband eighteen years departing at the ripe old age of 84 she leaves leaves behind bob lad her six q children dren who are all ji narried 56 55 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren she was wag of a very robust and healthy constitution that was transmitted to her children as a legacy and which they all inherited equally mother ellison was always of a very cheerful disposition a dutiful wife and kind mother very much esteemed and will be sadly missed by a host of dear friends and a multitude of relatives she never wavered the principles of the gospel which she held with great reverence her faith and hope were strongly siron gly interwoven into the purpose and h hinesly hine nesty siy of her ion long life of devotion to the church and principles that she had adhered to for over forty tour four years she died as an she had lived a faithful latter day saint nephi standard |
