Commissioner Smoot indicated that he has addressed many large audiences all over the nation. During my term with the National Association of Counties, I spoke in 30 states to over 130,000 people. speaking engagements were by request. He noted that since his school days he has always been talking to large groups of people starting when he was studentbody president at his junior high until his present position. Morrison, 18, became the most recent of the family to join the people whove joined the Army as he enlisted recently for assignment as an Infantryman with the 9th Infantry Division of Fort Lewis, Wash. He will undergo basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the eighth member of his family to choose Army life. Visitors during the week of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McAllister were his mother, Mrs. Laverde McAllister of Kanab and her brother, Noal Black of Santa Barbara, Calif, who was in Utah for a business trip. Mrs. Lawrence Jansen has returned by plane from Indianapolis, Ind. where she spent the past 10 days with her daughter and family, Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Dinger and three children.
