PTA OFFICERS for 1977-7- 8 were installed by Newell Anderson, a district PTA of-- 1 Anderson Mr. ticer. challenged the officers and the parents in attendance to support the objectives of the PTA. PTA officers The 1977-7are Kay Winegar, president; 8 Karlene Bennett, first vice president; James (Jim) Abate, second vice president; Marjene Isom, secretary; Dianne Stapley, treasurer; and Judy Stevens, historian. Mrs. Kay Winegar, the PTA president, invited all parents to become active in PTA work. She said that there is an opportunity for everyone to work in the PTA and that it is a very rewarding experience. BILL WARREN, Central s principal, Jim Abate, the assistant principal and Laura Burton the school secretary, were presented with gifts of appreciation for the support they gave to the PTA. Corsages were also given to those ladies who had served as PTA chairmen during the year. SALLY Stratford, a student at Layton High, was presented with a $200 scholarship. This year, all junior high, high schools, and elementary schools in Layton will select an alumni of their school to receive such a scholarship. This is a joint school and PTA endeavor.
