Instead, I was treated to a display of several types of crafts, oil paintings, and the original ceramics. The real plus was the person herself, Mrs. Larry Marino, of Layton. With a smile on her face, she told I think there is me, artistic in something whether its everybody, ceramics, painting, knitting or planting flowers. Its just finding out what you can do rather than sitting back and saying you have no artistic ability. MRS. MARINOS talents were evident in many areas and she continued to assure me that most of her creations could be achieved by anyone. Several years ago she began with craft items but, about 1972, she became bored and went to a ceramics class with a friend. After and dropping breaking the first piece of greenware she held, she was discouraged and didnt want to continue. The teacher insisted that she take another candy dish and work on it. The red cherries came out black but that wasnt a deterrent. BEGINNING with glazed items, Mrs. Marino went on to stain and different techniques.
