Students could choose from performing with a Karaoke machine, dancing around a Mnvpole or singing along with a live musician. There were several art workshops to choose trom and some daring students spent part of the afternoon learning the Macarena In another corner of the park, some rock n roll maniacs" were boogieing to the sounds of Flvis Preslev's Jailhouse Rock. Under a tent, two mimes (one with special needs) used only their bodies and facial expressions to share stories sprin- RING AROUND kled with sentiment and laughter. Perhaps most important of all, the festival gav e each student the opportunity to forget for a little while that thev live in a world that considers them disabled. The purpose of the festival is to let go that creativity that is within them and to not produce a project that is to be graded, but to help them feel good about cial needs and THE MAY POLE: Students loved the trad tiona! ce'ebration to welcome spring. whatever creativity they want to express, said Viewmont Special Education Instructor, Cindy Anderson.
