Jacobson, a resident of North Salt Lake and coveted Distinguished Toastmaster 15-yc- ar a has city councilman from 1982-8announced his candidacy for the mayoral post. His goals are to maintain a highly efficient government, to keep taxes low, and to establish an open-dopolicy to the mayor's office. He will bring reliability and experience to the 9, or city. While serving as councilman, Jacobson assisted in revising the new City Code Manual, more than doubled the citys water storage capacity, and added a computerized water monitoring system that improved the city's fire code rating. He is very pleased about the growth in the commercial and industrial parks and plans to increase them even more. Jacobson is the owneroperator of 'Precise Items,' a small business that he founded in 1970. Established Utah artists and talented newcomers will be presenting their work. An immense variety of mediums, styles and subjects will be on display at the Arts Festival. - Heritage, talent and creativity FARMINGTON will underscore this year's Farmington Country -- Holiday. Over the past three years he has served as a member of the Centerville Board of Adjustment and was recently appointed to serve on an ad hoc committee studying potential changes in the South Davis Fire District. Mr. Nielsen cited several areas of most concern which the council will have to deal with in the near future.
