After one of the most disaster seasons in their history, Coach Ron Huber has his Olympus basketball team cherping and believing they can win a region championship. Olympus is one of the two teams invited1 to participate in the Davis County Invitational that resides outside the county. A school that should be a top good challenge for East High for the Region Two basketball championship. The Titans want to forget last years 9 record and no victories in the regular season. The best way they know how is to win more than what they lose in 4-- A 79-8- 0. So far Huber has them doing at the that. Two more seniors that have aided Hubers program are 6 Brent Stevenson and 6--5 Jim Sorenson. Junior guard, Mike Brown could get a starting position later 6-- on. Coach Huber was also impressed with the early play of Dave Layton and Steve Rossberg as well as Bobby Baer. With another junior guard in Jeff Davis, Olympus may very well have the best 2 guard tandem in the state next year. He is a very aggressive player. TournamentOpinion Coach Huber is very excited about participation in the Davis County tournament after having lived in Bountiful for six years and student-teachin- g at a junior high in Bountiful. My wife is from Bountiful, so shell accompany us iii the tournament, said Huber. Huber feds his Titans may have been a bit lucky to win over Viewmont, who he thinks is one of teams in the state, the finest as well as Bountiful. He says Salt Lake schools always know that Davis is tough. We believe that the Davis County tournament is one of the finest tournaments in the state and that shows great coaches right where we want to be. Olympus had claimed wins over Highland, Granger, Judge, Roy and Viewmont and were narrowly defeated by Kearns in a two-poisqueeker. Though senior dominated as a starting group, the Titans lacK experience since most of' the varsity' performers have had little varsity experience!
