Show ceivc this we ran u!l atl-udtoj employ iimto help and In publi.-di :.s gnnd a semi-weekly paper as w e now issue but once a week. But the people, we are eon fident. would prefer a good week! y paper to a poor paper twiee as often. The expenses of publishing twiee a week are double the expenses of a weekly, and until we see our way clear and the patronage justifies the venture we shall not attempt such improvements. Our motto is not to make any reekless launches that may engender public distrust and bring bitter disappointments upon ourselves through failure. We have a fast cylinder press and all other appliances necessary for the publication of even a small daily, and we shall always cheerfully meet the people more than half way when they get ready and are prepared for such changes. or a rrrruE vornsi Now 'ni at the people of Brigham t'ity have once more shown their faith in their pioneer paicr by expelling ex-pelling all others through withdrawal with-drawal of support,, wc believe it not out of place for us to say a word or two fis to our future course. All know wc have the future welfare of Brigham City and Box Klder County honestly at heart. It is i wholly unnecessary to dwell on that point here. The first blast of Thk Buglku ileelared l'inde)cndent in politics and religion." To some, during the three years of our existence, we may have appeared to deviate from this course. If we have done so wc acknowledge it a mistake and a misstep from the original outlined policy of the paper, which we intend in-tend steadfastly pursuing in the future. Personally, the editor, who is the sole proprietor of Tun Bit.lku, is a Democrat in politics. We trust none of our readers will question our right, any more than that of any other business man, to enjoy a political faith. In thelast election we no doubt favored one party, hut it was from the simple fact; that that side gave us their undivided un-divided patronage, and also because a few politicians on the opposite side got control of the other paper and forced us openly to espouse the opposite side. In this stand. we hut followed a law of nature: we stood by those who befriended and supported us. We arc here for the business there is in it not for fame or to be the tool or organ of any political party. The publication of this paper is a business proposition with us. Our policy has been and always will be to do everything in our power to help and assist those who patronize us, regardless of their political faith. In the operation opera-tion of this paper, politics cuts no figure with us. "We are here to stay." It takes money to live, and a Republican dollar goes just as far as a dollar's worth of patronage from the most rabid Democrat, and it will receive exactly the same reciprocal treatment at our hands. W'e invite the patronage of everyone. AVe shall do our utmost ut-most to make The Bugler a representative rep-resentative of the entire people, and to please all as far as possible. W'e shall always pi ove ourselves the staunch friend of our friends and patrons. Kansas Cnv has a provision in its charter which imposes a fine of $2.50 upon all leal voters who fail ; to cast their votes at any general j election.
