Show ARBOR DAY i BRUJHA.1 (lov. T bo m is Chow in Unauxplcioui Day and the Kesult Viu UimtiNfadory. The stormy weather prevented Arbor Pay. April 2nd, being very elaborately observed in Brigham. Its being something entirely new here was also against it. Several of the business houses were closed but some were not, although it was a legal holiday. Some trees and shrubbery were planted in private lots, but none, that we have heard of, in public places. In the East, this day is usually one of public demonstrations, similar to May Day festivities. Arbor Day is a beautiful institution and we hope to see it more generally observed ob-served in 1893 and thereafter. |
