The bids were aggravatingly low and the ardent auctiuneer grabbed eagerly ai every new customer who was likely to raise, the bid. Sheriff "Only 5b0. am I bid; whv. gentlemen, the animal is worth WOO. 'T would like to make one bid before I go." Sheriff (delighted) '"Do so. Brother Bowring you're the man make your bid " Comedian B. (taking offhis hat and making a graceful and sweeping sweep-ing bow) ''Well, then, I will '"bid" you a happy good day," and off lie strutted with prodigious seriousness as the crowd rent the air with wild yells and hoots of delight. |
