The raise will figure out to about seven percent, according to City Councilman Doug Wight. It is an increase anticipated by the city for several months. In terms of cost, it means that Brigham City will pay about $28,000 to $30,000 more annually for power which it buys from the federal agencys Upper Colorado River Storage project. This is based on annual purchases of about $400,000, Wight explained. In addition, he announced that BOR has said it will provide the city with peaking power this summer equal to that received last year 1,100 kilowatts. In still other business last week during a regular city council meeting: Doug Johnson, assistant regional manager for BFM Constructors, told the council that the stringing of cable in Brigham Citys proposed cable TV system should begin within one to two weeks. He said a tower for the local system and Hospital , (Continued from Page 1) This money comes back into the hospital at time of need, Godfrey explained. Whats generated here, stays here. We dont subsidize one community with another, Douglas Carpenter, assistant to the executive vice president, added. The corporation has 17 hospitals in Utah and southern Idaho, each with a local board to help set policy and represent the interests of the community. Carpenter said that if IHC were not already in Tremonton and didnt have a hospital in Logan, it would not be proposing to take over the hospital ownership. The operation of small hospitals is difficult in these days and last year IHC turned down proposals to take over six other hospitals, a spokesman said. The north Box Elder county communities will have first right to reacquire the hospital if later IHC decides to dispose of company office will be located on west Forest street at the northeast corner of the Pason Auto Salvage property. Expressing belief that the council should exercise a leadership role, Councilman Peter C. Knudson voiced support for Mayor Harold B. Felts directive earlier in the week to have City Attorney Omer Call draft an ordinance. Councilman Knudson said another week would be given for interested firms to indicate their willingness to provide chemical fluoride on a contract basis. The mayor and council agreed to host on an art reception at the museum-galler- y May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. it. But Carpenter said the particulars of such disposal have not even been considered because Were confident the hospital will be supported. Tremonton Mayor Max Mason voiced endorsement of the city council for the IHC proposal and Fire Chief Lynn Iverson referred to the hospital as A real advantage to the communty. Approval was given to Close Forest street between Main and First West on April 25 so that students can do street paintings as part of the Community Art week. The city also will provide a truck to pick up paint cans after the students are through. Would you believe this is the seventh year I have been urging you, the people living in Box Elder county, to eradicate this yellow blossom pest from parking. (SsmeepO gjir0Dp your property? What has happened to the weed? If you take a good look around vacant lots, roadsides, fields, mountainsides and even lawns, you can see thousands of the Dyers Woad rosettes spreading to new areas each day. During the next month they will be sending up the yellow blossom, then the black seeds will develop. People have asked me what I plan to do about the Dyers Woad campaign this year. I tell them I am going to watch them grow and continue to spread. I wish people would care enough about stopping the seed from spreading to just dig up, spray or pull those plants growing on their own property. Youth groups have asked about getting rid of the Dyers Woad rosettes on public areas. I hope some united effort can be mustered to carry out a Dyers Woad eradication war throughout the county. Many farmers of the county have really tried to control this pest on farm lands.
