He and his family, Carrie Christensen, Richard Nesslers were there from Bear River. Friend Dine On At Local Park The Leon Jensen family held theirs in the local park August 16. The afternoon was spent enjoying each others company and the good food. The LaVon and Arnold Dallin family reunion was held at Lagoon on this same day. Only three family members were absent. Chester and Ada Stander were speakers at church recently. They reported their mission experiences and two of their granddaughters played two piano and organ duets. These girls are Jack and Renae Hodges daughters from Ogden. The Hodges were also at the meeting. August 30 Velma Graves and her friend Natalie from Palm Springs, Marge Doughton of Ogden and DeAnn Graves arrived from a trip to Canada and stopped into visit with LaVon Dallin. They reported the highlight of their trip was a stay at Lake Louise. Lila Lee Kerl and daughter Tina and two granddaughters visited with Ida Christensen during the week. Gus Thorgren of Idaho Falls visited relatives in this area a week ago. He called at the home of LaMarr Iverson and also at the Boyd Hawkes residence. Varge Christensen and his family have returned to their home in California after spending a week here with his mother Mrs. Carrie Christensen and other family members and friends. Carrie J. Christensen came home from the hospital Thursday and is going to spend a few days with Nola Nessler after having hip surgery at the Logan hospital and is doing just great. Five members competed in the team and won first place. Susan Grimmett received blue ribbons on all events in which she entered. She is the only one from here on the team. Attending the event to watch her were her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Grimmett of Salt Lake, her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Orson Grimmett of Paris, Idaho and her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Passkett. This same team won first place at the state fair last Saturday. There are seven members on the team but only five can compete in each event. Eight teams from the state entered. They are judged as teams and individuals and Susan rated third out of 56 individuals. Bessie Christensen and Car- rie A. Christensen spent Friday and Saturday in the Hyrum area where Kent, Curtis and Chester are harvesting grain. The ladies were there to furnish the guys with their hot meal. Roland Barker reports that Blance Barker is improving and recuperating at the nursing home from a broken hip. She expects to be in her own home in a few weeks.
