They returned home Saturday evening. Enroute home the two ladies visited Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon etc. They also enjoyed supper with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Garn and family in American Fork. Mrs. Nan Bowcutt, Val Bowcutt and son Brett were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bowcutt and family in Logan Sunday. Visiting Mrs. Jennie Gephart the past week was Mrs. Elaine Maycock of Salt Lake City. She also visited Mr. and Mrs. V.D. Bowcutt and family in Tremonton. Mrs. Hazel Rose attended Stephanie Ann Stokes . . . enters contest a university and is being sponsored by the Western Trails cafe. She is a graduate of Bear River High school and was awarded a four-yea- r teaching scholarship to USU. Rose Ann is a member of Lamda Delta Sigma, Spurs, and makes costumes for Fine Arts Plays at USU. For hqr talent number she will design, make clothes and present an original fashion show. She is the daughter of Mrs. Ora Z. Burns held in Farmington Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burns and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas. Mr. Burns is a former resident of Fielding. along with many other gifts. The latest entries are Denise Potter, Stephanie Ann Stokes, Rose Ann Thompson and Sharrie LeFevre. The pageant will be held Thursday July 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear River High school auditorium. The Civic and Home Arts Club of Garland sponsors the pageant. Stephanie Ann Stokes Miss Stokes parents are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thayne Stokes of Penrose. She is a recent graduate of Bear River High school and was awarded a two-yescholarship in voice at Utah State university. She was a member of the a capella choir and pep club, sophomore class secretary and of Future Homemakers America secretary. Stephanie is a member of the National e Honor society and the choir. Her sponsor is the Bear River Drug of Tremonton. For her talent she will perform a vocal solo. The course will cover basic electronics and radio and will advance into television and radar principles. The course will also cover TV your ability and PCA financing Sharrie LeFevre pageant hopeful repair and aviation electronics as well as basic transistor circuit design. Dean Samuels, formerly of Snow college, will be the instructor. Samuels, who has several years experience in industry and teaching electronics, said the course is directed towards obtaining an FCC First Class radio license as UTAH 67 E. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Bob Poole Jr. of Murray visited Mr. and Mrs. Errall Bone. Mrs. Errall Bone who taught German at Bear River High school last yedr will teach German again this coming year along with dramatics, speech and sophomore English. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. O.C. David attended an open house for Mrs. Mattie Hassel of Deweyville who was observing her 80th birthday anniversary. It was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rindlisbacher. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. M. Rex Jensen had as their dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jensen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Don Vanderbeek of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jensen and family of Garland, of DeAnn Miss Jensen Pocatello, M.V. Jensen of Shelley and Mrs. Dwight Michelsen and two children of Vacaville, Calif. The occasion was Mrs. M. Rex Jensens birthday anniversary. Bridge Club Meets The Garland Bridge club met at the home of Mrs. Inez Brown Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Lena Hall as hostess. Mrs. Dorris Peterson was a special guest. Prizes went to Mrs. NaVelle Rhodes, Mrs. Dessie Campbell and Mrs. LaVona Carter. A delicious luncheon was enjoyed. Johns attended a wedding in the Idaho Falls Temple Thursday where Anna Louise Lenz became the bride of Michael H. Hetzel of Provo. A reception was held in the Ashton ward cultural hall that evening.
