MISS ROSE CAMARA TO BE MARCH BRIDE Of widespread interest is the announcement of the engagement of Miss Rose Camara. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Zabala of Bingham Canyon, to W. Ralph Hoover Jr. The couple's wedding date, March 17, was revealed at a lun-cheon Saturday afternoon in the Royal room at Newhouse hotel. A colorful St. Patrick's day theme was carried out, and hos-tesses were Miss Faye Apostal ' and Miss June Mutz. Following LDS church cere- - monies the pair will accept con- - gratulations ut an evening re-ception in the Civic Center at Bingham. Charming Miss Camara has asked her sister, Mrs. Paul Per-ry, to attend her as matron of honor, while Miss Joyce Hoover, sister of the prospective bride-groom, will be maid of honor. Attending matrons will be Mrs. George Dakis and Mrs. Karl Bodine. Mr. Hoover, a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hoover of Provo, has recently returned from an LDS mission. He will ask his brother, Herbert Grant Hoover, to per-form best man duties. Entertaining the bride-ele- ct prior to her marriage will be her fellow employes in Salt Lake City, who plan a kitchen shower at the home of Mrs. W. C. Dun-for- d, 1621 Denver St. Mrs. W. R. Hoover, Mrs. Roy Westfall .and Mrs. Paul Parry and Mrs. H. Ugarte will entertain her at Bing ham. Following a honeymoon to Klamath Falls, Ore., and San Francisco the newlyweds will make a home in Provo. February Wedding Announcement is made this week of the marriage of Miss Naomi Patricia Nicholls, daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nich-olls, to Bill Muiray, a son of William Murray of Heber. The wedding was solemnized Febru-ary 27 in Salt Lake City. Accom-panying the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Nicholls and boys and Mrs. J. J. Doyle. The newlyweds are making their home at the Cop-per Gate Apts., Bingham. Week end guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Delaney and family was Mrs. Elma Thomas of Murray. Enjoying dinner at the Town and Country Inn and later at-tending the Villa in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Mrs. Victor Bononcini of Lead Mine entertained at a love-ly birthday party honoring her daughter, Carol Ann, on her eighth birthday on Thursday, March 1st. Games and refresh-ments were enjoyed by Dennis Scroggin, Jan Nordan, Reeves Dahlstrom, Michael Kampros, March 2 as compared with 486 for the previous week and 472 for the corresponding week last year. HEALTH NEWS According to the weekly re-port of the state department of health, a total of 493 new cases of communicable diseases were' reported for the week ending Youth Conference held in Salt Lake City recently. Highlights of the conference were: an airplane ride, tours of KSL television, Utah Oil Refining Co., Emico Co. and University of Utah campus. They also attended the Utah-Wyomi-basketball game. Guest speakers were Mr. Gadsby, pre-sident of Utah Power & Light Co., U of U President A. Ray Olpin and Dean Wahlquist, and Dr. Adam S. Bennion. Hotel Utah was headquarters for the conference. Paul reported that he had a very enjoyable time. O ham in the class B tournament which starts Wednesday, March 14th. Buses are going to be tak-en to the sessions in which the Miners play. "Dream Eoy" Contest Slated The Girls' Club has started a 'Dream Buy" contest, in order to have him reign at the club's dance which will be held March 30th. Contestants of this contest are: Matt Pazell, Billy (Korny) Klonizos, and Jim Bapis. The winner will be determined by the number of penniet- deposited in his box. Each penny is count-ed as one vote. This dance is girls choice. School Sweaters The .school sweaters will be here Monday, in time tor every- -' one to wear them to trie tourna-men- t. These sweaters cannot be obtained until they are paid for !in full. West Jordan Traveling Assembly Here Wednesday Wc-,- Jordan brought their postponed traveling assembly to Bingham Wednesday. The theme of the assembly was "Mr. Jolly's, School of Dancing, Singing, and Acting" and it was under the direction of Lowell Hicks. Inclu-ded on the program were tap dances, modern dances, vocal numbers, instrumental numbers, readings, and numbers on the Hammond organ. The assembly was thoroughly enjoyed by all the .students. The terrific win placed Bing- - per Corp. open pit mine, al-though work was delayed nearly two weeks by steel shortages, Charles Hagerman, company en-gineer said (Monday. Delay in delivery of steel sup-ports for the tunnel recently brought construction to a near standstill, but workmen now are boring more than 25 ft. a day, he said. The tunnel work is now more than 500 ft. long, he re-ported. To lead from the pit on the 5840 ft. level to the existing rail-road system in lower Bingham, the tunneJ. is slated for comple-tion in April of 1952.
