LEYBA Requiem mass for Mrs. Caroline Caro-line Duran Ortega Leyba, 54, of West Jordan, former Bingham Canyon resident, who died Sunday, Sun-day, July 28, at 2:45 p.m. at her home 1550 W. 9000 South, West Jordan, following a long illness, was celebrated Thursday, August 1, at 10 a.m. in the St. Therese Catholic Church, Midvale. Mrs. Leyba was born April 30, 1903, in Truchas, N. Mex., to Mr. and (Mrs. Luciano Ortega. She married Frank Leyba April 15, 1934, in Bingham Canyon. He died Dec. 1, 1953. She was a house wife, and a member of the Catholic Cath-olic church. Survivors include, four daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Richard (Theressa) Aceves, Mrs. Louis (Or.nie) Lopez, Lo-pez, and Margie, all of West Jordan; Jor-dan; Mrs. Joe (Frances) Tafoya, Bingham Canyon; 8 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, and a great-grandchild; two sisters. Burial was in West Jordan cemetery. Samuel Nesief, 84, of Salt Lake City, died in a Salt Lake rest i home at noon Sunday, July 28. He was a cousin of Zaden (George) (Geo-rge) Nosef of Bingham Canyon. Requiem mass was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cal-vary cemetery. Funeral services for Mrs. iMary Daniels Mathis, 56, of Salt Lake City, who died Saturday morning, morn-ing, July 27, in a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital of uremia, were held Thursday, Thurs-day, August 1, at 2 p.m. in the Trinity AME church in Salt Lake. She was married to Posey Mathis in 1934 in Pingharn Canyon. Can-yon. Interment was in iMt. Olivet cemetery. |
