Show V VI. i-O, J- WARMOTHERS' HOLD BANQUET The Milford Chapter of war mothers moth-ers gave their first banquet at the Ho tel Atkin Tuesday evening. The affair af-fair was in honor of two members of the Chapter, Mrs. Rheims of "Rhem-crest" "Rhem-crest" and Mrs. Allen Hedges, who are leaving indefinitely. At 10 p. m. the ladies filed into the dining room which was profusely decorated with American colors. The tables were laden with everything good in eats for which the Hotel Atkin At-kin is famous. Interesting war souvenirs and shell vases filled with beautiful flowers were distributed through the entire center length of the table. Julia A. Smithson, historian of the chapter and tostmistress for the ban quet, opened the ceremony with the toast "Milford War Mothers". She called on the following adles who responded re-sponded to the toast in the order named: Mrs. P. J. Adams. "Milford War Fathers." Mrs. Anna Jones Atkln, "Milford War Sons." Mrs. Christie Lee, "Milford War Sisters." Mrs. Dr. Swanson, "Milford War Babies.'' Our honorary members, Boyd White Jr. Mrs. Berg Jorgensen. The favors were pretty little American Am-erican silk flags. After the banquet the ladies retired re-tired to the lobby where Mrs. Billy Dobson and Mrs. Boyd White gave several instrumental and' vocal selections. se-lections. Election of officers for the ensuing year will be held at the next meet ing, Thursday Oct. 28. |
