Show MILFORD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ACTIVITIES One of the new features of the work of the Elementary schools of Milford, is the introduction of the half day session plan into the second sec-ond grade. This change has caused more or less conjectureing on the part of the second grade work this year, if they are allowed to attend school only one-half day throughout through-out the year. Any parents who do not understand this plan of work will do well to have a talk with the teacher, Miss Huish, or the principal, princi-pal, Mr. Wilkinson. They can and ! will be very much pleased to give a Burns. Why? Didn't they lead the Fats to victory in the late melee between be-tween the Fats and the Leans? And they have other qualifications and recommendations, too. They have been around in various progressive communities and know what is being be-ing done and how. Either of these gentlemen would lend dignity and prestige to the position of Mayor of Milford. Of course E. B. Jorgensen and E. H. Street and E. H. Bird always fill in well where there is any vacancy, and it may be one or more, of them will have to come to the rescue here. But here is the latest: "If the men refuse to get in and do the town board job as it should be done why not elect a board of ladies?" Why not. indeed? Ladies are running the offices of municipalities in various vari-ous places in these United States very successfully, from Congress to jury. There are a number of ladies in Milford well equipped for the job. If they can agree on which shall be mayor the tonsorial artists of Milford may take a hand in this election. Then look out for an ordinance or-dinance compelling more frequent and regular shaves and establishing the military haircut as a permanent institution. But cheer up, my longhaired long-haired friend, that first qualification is lacking they can't agree. Then there are some talking of a ticket composed entirely of the younger men, like M. Erb, Fred Jefferson, Jef-ferson, Ezra Barton, E. H. Bird and Harrold Harrington. What? Why not? There Is no issue of "wet" and "dry," for which let us be thankful. The only issue Is "Aggressiveness vs. Apathy," or "Progression vs. Retrogression," Retro-gression," "Boosting vs. Knocking." Who will accept this excellent opportunity op-portunity to work for the advancement advance-ment of his or her home town? |
