Show April 19, 1984 Page Thursday 3 Area Obituaries Members of the Southern Utah Chorale traveled last weekend to Salt Lake City to perform. They sang In the Assembly Hall on Temple Square and ai the Wasatch Presbyterian Church. Parowan musicians Involved In the group Include Brenda Adams, Christine Burton, Eleen Evans, Steve Matheson, Jackie Robinson, Bob Rowley, and Jay Wllcken. They gave an impressive performance on Sunday, April 8 In Cedar City. The Parowan Elementary School presented Its Spring musical program on Wednesday, April 11 at the PHS Auditorium. Kindergarten -3rd grade students performed a variety of songs, including patrioand tic numbers, "Erie Canal "Ive Been Working on the Railroad, "Do Sandwiches Really Have Sand In Them?, and a somg describing computers. Teachers of these performers include Patricia Topham, Jillyn Rasmussen, Kris Cooley, Marcl Rogers, Ilene Jones, JoAnne Lamoreaux, and Kim Dou-be- k. Principal Roma Jensen also participated In the program . The Spring weather feels great. Our peas are up about half an inch -as Im sure other people's are. Brian, Myra Gurr and four children traveled recently to Huntsville to visit with Myras folks, the Foerers. Shurtleff had all of her Carey family home last weekend, except her son who lives In Florida. Adamsville Mrs. Donna Morris has been In Provo the past week for schooling In connection with her job for the Forest Service. She returned home Friday evening. Roy and Margaret Barton, their daughter Dana Kay Steorts and her son Shay, traveled to Salt Lake City on Wednesday where they visited Roys brother Joe and family and his sister Betty Burr. On the way home they visited another brother West Barton In Fillmore. They came home Friday. Vincent Kite went to Las Vegas Thursday for a couple of days. Brent and Sandy Edwards, Ralph and Leah Fordham, Ronda Weldert, Bishop and Rita Jessup, Theron Jessup, Dennis and Beulah Farnsworth, Ray and Alton Kesler all traveled to St. George Saturday to go through the St. George Temple with Tony Jessup, who will be leaving In May for a Mission for the LDS Church. Bill Raisor traveled to Phoenix, Arizona last week on business. He came home tired, but glad to be home again. Saturday he drove to Cedar City on business. TREAT 80, of Milford died April 10, 1984 in the Milford She was born Valley Hospital. in 1903 10, May Frisco, Utah to Daniel B. and Eliza Belle Sherwood James. She married James P. Holm November 1, 1930. Their marriage was later solmnizedinthe St. George Temple. He died. She married M. Treat November 4, He 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada. died August 11, 1980. She is survived by a brother Thomas James A step daughter of Milford. and two step --grandsons: Rose Holm and Jimmy and Ronald all of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was in death by a brother and a sister; Glen and lona. Funeral services were held April 13th, 1984 at 1:00 p.m. in the Milford LDS Ward Chapel. Burial took place in the Milford City Cemetery. FuWANDA Wanda J. Treat, $ Greenville Cliff and Janice Myers and four children drove to Phoenix, Arizona to visit Cliffs parents Frank and Phylls Myers. They had a good visit and enjoyed the warm climate there. They arrived back home last Tuesday. Gail and Glenn Jablionski were In Cedar City on Friday. Mrs. JoAnn Blackner and her mother Helen Williams drove to American Fork on Wednesday, because of the serious illness of cousin, the former Mary Low Lund. She had passed away before they arrived. JoAnn came home Thursday and Helen stayed with the family. On Monday the family traveled back to American Fork to attend the funeral services. Mary Lou Is the daughter of Elwood and Alice Lund. Alice passed away just seven months ago. Ralph and Leah Fordham drove to American Fork on Monday to attend the funeral services also. Mrs. Sussette Blackner and two children accompanied her mother Mrs. Janet Reach of Salina and her sister to Provo on Friday. and Annette four of her children came last Friday evening and spent the weekend with her mother and other relatives. It is so nice to have Annette and family living In Cedar City and able to I come over. On Wednesday, drove to Cedar City and stayed with the children while Annette drove to Las Vegas to pick up her husband Deloy from the plane. He had been In California on business with Utah Power and Light. He returned home early Thursday. Mrs. Afton Kesler returned home this week from Rifle, Colorado where she had been helping Stephen and Vicki Kesler with their new baby, and helping with other family Nolan and Selma Walker drove to St. George this week where Nolan had a medical appointment. Mrs. Kaye Orton drove to Richfield this week to pick up her children at her mothers home. Kayes parents came last week and took the children home with them for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin Bodily and four children were In Cedar City this week for an outing. Mrs. Carolyn Dolton and daughter Natalie of Circle vllle, spent a couple of days this week visiting her parents, Cullen and Mary Ann Williams and her grandparents, The James Williams. Computer age enters BRADSHAW QUALIFY - GONZALEZ FOR STATE Elementary DRAMA MEET Bradshaw and Lea Gonzalez qualified for the State Drama Meet when they attended the Regional Drama Meet In Cedar City last week. They won In the "Scenes From Plays division. Lea also won In the "Mono Acting division, but can only perform in one division in State. Kenneth The State Meet will be held in Ogden on April 28. Kenneth and Lea will perform sections from "Youre a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Although Lisa Florence, Marie Williams and Tammie Gonzalez did not qualify for State, they all did very well at the Regional Drama Meet. Milford Elementary School is preparing their students for the future by teaching computer literacy, use, and programming. The younger grades have been using educational programs, teaching spelling, language usage, math and social These students obtain a studies. familiarization with computers and receive vital skill reinforcements. The fifth and sixth grades have not only been using the computer programs but have also learned how to write their own programs. Students have programed their own lessons with graphics and sound included. Milford Elementary Students have obtained knowledge and a love of computers.
