Show Services Held for Mrs. Ruth Hoopes Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Ann Hoopes were conducted con-ducted Friday, Sept. 29, in the Beaver Second Ward Chapel, under direction of Bishop Paul Nielson. Mrs. Hoopes, 50, died Monday Mon-day in a Provo hospital after a long illness. The services were as follows: fol-lows: Invocation, Bishop James Williams. Quartet, "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning," Ken Williams, Gilbert Gale, Hal Lund and Glen Smith, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Gilbert Gale. Remarks, Bishop Richard Jones. Violin solo, "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose,' Mrs. Macel Horton. Remarks, Carlos Murdock. Duet, "In the Garden," Carol Car-ol Carter and Carol Smith. Remarks, Bishop Nielson. Benediction, Bishop Joe Kes-ler. Kes-ler. The flowers were cared for by Relief Society ladies. Pallbearers were Hal Smith, Jason Ashworth, Leon Swin-dlehurst, Swin-dlehurst, John Riley, Dorrell Merchant and Boyd Puffer. Mrs. Hoopes was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Greenville, to Richard Rich-ard and Sarah Barton Thomas She married Lenzy Hoopes March 11, 1929, in North Creek. The marriage was later solemnized sol-emnized in the St. George Temple. Surviving are her husband, two sons and two daughters, Lenzy J. Hoopes, Kearns, and Thomas Hoopes, Holladay; Mrs. Sarah Coleman, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Sheila Yardley, St. George; a stepson and stepdaughter, step-daughter, Lenzy V. Hoopes and Mrs. Beryl Renteria, both of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren; grand-children; her stepmother, Mrs. Euzell Thomas, Beaver; three brothers and six sisters, Eldon. O r e m; Douglas, California; Daniel, Tooele; Mrs. Josephine Killam, Milford; Mrs. Audrey Harris, California; Mrs. Shirley Ashworth, Idaho Falls; Mrs Margaret Riley, Mrs. Nell Smith and Mrs. Alice Swindle-hurst, Swindle-hurst, all' of Beaver. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver. |
