Show PAUL P. ASIIWORTH, TELLURIDE OFFICIAL DIES IN CALIFORNIA Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City Wednesday for Paul P. Ashworth, 72, a native of Beaver, Bea-ver, widely known throughout the West for his close association with Telluride Power Company and with Utah Power and Light Company. Com-pany. He also had been active in civic and LDS Church organizations, organiza-tions, and Boy Scout work. He died April 23 of a heart attack at the home of a son in Glendora, Calif. Interment took place in Provo. Mr. Ashworth began his career in electric power with Telluride in 1906 as an engineer, and served serv-ed with that company and affiliates affili-ates in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. In 1915, he joined Utah Power and Light, working with that firm until 1938, when he rejoined re-joined the Telluride organization. In March, 1956, Mr. Ashworth returned to the Utah capital as Telluride's director and executive vice president in the Salt Lake office. of-fice. He retired from that position November 1, 1957, and took up private pri-vate practice as an engineer. He had served as a member of the board of governors of the Utah Society of Sons of the American Revolution and received the Silver Beaver award in Scouting in 1957, also serving on, the executive committee com-mittee of the Great Salt Lake Council, Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Ashworth was born Oct. 4, 1887, in Beaver, a son of William Booth and Mary Elizabeth Shepherd Shep-herd Ashworth. On Jan. 14, 1916, j he married Jane Ducher Ferrin of , Provo, the marriage taking place in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Survivors are his widow and daughters, Mrs. George H. Max-, two laughters, Mrs. George H. Max well and Mrs. Bruce A. Lloyd, all of Salt Lake City; three sons, Don F., Glendora, Calif.; Dell S., Provo, and Clinton O., San Jose, Calif.; 20 grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild; great-grandchild; three brothers, William Wil-liam and Claude S. Asworth, both of Salt Lake City, and Claiborne Ashworth, Payson; and a sister, Mrs. E. T. (Elsie) Bennett, Provo. |
