Show Mrs. Selma Carlson Laid to Rest in Milford Cemetery Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Milford Mil-ford Community Methodist Church for Mrs. Selma Johanna Carlson, 76, who died Sunday morning at her home in Ogden of causes' incident in-cident to age. Rev. Mrs. Myrtle White conducted con-ducted the services, opening with an appropriate Scripture passage, and Mrs. White offered the invocation. invo-cation. After the congregation recited The Lord's Prayer, Mrs. Catherine Cather-ine Whittaker sang "No Night There," accompanied by Mrs. Milton Mil-ton Pool. A Scripture reading, "The Holy City," was followed by a vocal duet, "Ivory Palaces," by Mrs. Lulu Clay and Victor Muzny, accompanied ac-companied by Ellen Hawley. Rev. Mrs. White delivered the funeral sermon, and pronounced the benediction. Mrs. Carlson was born Jan. 21, 1883, in Kronoby, Finland, to Andrew An-drew and Johanna Kronholm. As a young lady of 19, she came to America and Utah alone in 1902. She married Victor Carlson May 19, 1904, in Salt Lake City. He died in Milford May 20, 1923. Mrs. Carlson was a member of the MUford Community Methodist Church, the Rebekahs, and Ruth Chapter No. 6, Order of the Eastern East-ern Star. During her 45 years in Milford, and after moving to Ogden a few years ago -to live with her son, Mrs. Carlson was a devoted mother, moth-er, and spent much time in church and lodge work. . Surviving are a son, Harold Vic Carlson, Ogden; two daughters Mrs. Floyd Bentz, Beryl, and Mrs. J. G. Charchalis, Boise, Idaho; and three grandchildren. Burial was in the Milford. City Cemetery. |
