Show v ISOLATED UTAH OIL DIST. - TO BE REVIVED With oil matters over in Wyoming Wyom-ing and Colorado taking on such unusual impetus, it has been expected expect-ed for some time that the San Juan I field in southeast Utah would presently pres-ently witness a new revival. There are three rigs now in that district near Bluff. Word from there Is that a quiet movement is on by unidentified un-identified men who are said to be lo- eating some of the choicest quart- er sections. The San Juan field once had a gusher of high-grade paraffin oil and had a number of other shallow wells with oil. Its great isolation j from railroads is said to have been its only drawback. The following ' from the Moab Independent tells of , the probability of renewal of activities activ-ities in the immediate future. ! Considerable speculation has been caused by the people of the BIufT oil district during the past month because of the mysterious entry of strangers in that section, who when1 questioned were very reticent about giving out their business, and who left as mysteriously as they came, after spending several days in the field. It w-as even hinted that they might be German spies until some of the local men who have oil holdings hold-ings in the district, and who have been very quiet for the past year, began to get busy around the wells as if something was going to be stirring stir-ring in the near future. They could not hold their secret altogether, and their brighter looks and activity activ-ity at last caused the fact to be wormed out that offers had been made to immediately renew active work in the field. From what was gleaned in an official of-ficial way it was learned that outside out-side capital has already made care ful investigation and has determined deter-mined that the fields can no longer be left idle. There are three standard rigs in the field now, and it is expected that a great deal of new development develop-ment will be prosecuted this winter, win-ter, and that means will be devised for utilizing the oil already developed. develop-ed.
