The announcement is unequivocally made by representatives representa-tives of the Old Capitol Petroleum Fuel & Iron company that the agreement agree-ment which will merge them into a ten million dollar corporation formed of New "York capitalists of unquestionable unques-tionable standing iri the financial world, has been signed, anl that the money for the building of the road from Lund to this place will be forthcoming forth-coming at once in fact, that the construction con-struction work is to commence within thirty days. putting the proposition over.;oand ia This in brief is the message delivered deliv-ered to the people of Cedar City at a meeting of the Commercial club and citizens held in the Library auditor-tor auditor-tor gggvbgkqjxznflfrffixznflffffixzfiflff ium last Wednesday night, by Dr. Chas. F. Wilcox, director, Nicholas A. Robertson, attorney, and Thomas Homer, abstracter, for the above mentioned men-tioned company, each residing at Salt Lake City. They, with their associates, McClellan, Dustin, Meekin, et. al., have been working constantly and tireless- I y on this project ever since It was brought to their attention two years ago, often in the face of the most disheartening conditions. They have been victimized by scoundrels, who have taken advantage of their credulity credul-ity and inherrent faith in humanity; they have been rebuffed, nnd dissuaded, dissuad-ed, but they have kept right on, with faces resolutely set toward the desired object, until it has, apparently, been attained. Dr. Wilcox is especially entitled en-titled to credit and the thanks of the Cedar City people, which were extended extend-ed to him and his associates by the citizens by a hearty vote t the close of the meeting Wednesday night. He has enrried the heaviest burden, both in the mutter of time and means. Being Be-ing "into it," he knew no give up until un-til success crowned his efforts. Dr. Wilcox and associates came to Cedar City this week to break the good news of their success in the railroad project and to obtain an extension of time on the right of way agreements, which expired on the first of last December. De-cember. After listening to the evidences evi-dences and explanations given, those present voted unanimously to grant the extension of time asked, which is fixed for October first next, though the company promises to comemnce grading within thirty days and expects ex-pects to have the road completed and in operation by the first of next July. Pres. U. T. Jones was elected chairman chair-man of the meeting, in the absence of S. J. Foster, the club's president, and emphasized the importance of each individual in-dividual doing his part in bearing the expense of depot grounds, rights of way andother connections asked. The following committees were appointed ap-pointed to assist in securing the signatures sig-natures to extension agreements and in soliciting subscriptions to reimburse reim-burse the land owners for the damage mmf they would sustain by reason of the " "'"' invading their fields: On securing extensions of the right .i way agreements: U. Dr. Wilcox and Attorney Robertson returned to Salt Lake City yesterday, Mr. Homer remaining to assist in the work of securing signatures to the x tens ion agreements.
