Show SOCIETY NEVS Members of the N. I. P. club t were delightfully entertained Saturday Sat-urday evening at the home ot Mrs. Clara Childs. Progressive-"500" Progressive-"500" featured the entertainment with club prize won -oy Mrs. Mary Bird and tne guest prize by Mrs. Eva Lewis. A Sainty luncheon lunch-eon was served by the hostess to Mrs. Afton Palfreyman, Mrs. Ann Stewart, Mrs. Sarabell Stewart, Mrs. Bird, Mrs. Mabel Simkin3, Mrs. Mary Van Leuvan, Mrs. Fred Cornaby, Mrs. Lewis and Miss Zella Cornaby of Spansih Fork, the latter four being guests. Mrs. E. E. Knudsen and Mrs. Lucille Stowell were in Nephi last Thursday evening to assist "Gold and Green" contest dancers with their contest dance. Members of the Ava Delma Bridge club were entertained Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the home of Mrs. Margaret Zabriskie at Benjamin. Ben-jamin. During the games, Mrs. Wrealtha Spafford was awarded high score prize and Mrs. Pearl Smith the consolation. A tasty luncheon was served by the hostess host-ess to twelve club members and two guests, Mrs. Gwen Cutler of Spanish Fok and Mrs. Vera Zabriskie Za-briskie of Salt Lake. Nephi Leyshon the consolation. A delicious supper was served to: Mr. and Airs. Elmo Averett, Mr. and Mrs. Wing, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Leyshon, Mr. and Mrs. George Stone, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Oakley, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Ashcraft, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Perry. Miss Ruth Whiting of Mapleton Maple-ton was the dinner guest Wednesday Wednes-day of Mr. and Ms. J. C. Nielson, Miss Myrtle Childs of this city and Miss Blanch Jones of Spanish Fork motored to American Fork Wednesday evening where they were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Ferguson. A most pleasing and entertaining entertain-ing piano recital was given Thursday Thurs-day evening by students of Mrs. Mary S. Boyer at her home. The students entertained in honor of their parents. Those who appeared on the program were: Pauline Claudin, Lula Fox, Scott Thorne, Marjorie Simkins, Averett Larson, Lar-son, Ruth Jensen, Dan Payne, Jack Payne, Grant Hall and Delbert Leichty. Mrs. Rose B. Boyer of Los Angeles, formerly of this city announces an-nounces the mariage of her daugh "There is a tendency to shift from the foreign to the American Art,' 'said Professor B. F. Larson of the B. Y. U. in a talk on the art exhibit before members of the various ladies' clubs of the city, Friday afternoon at the high ,high school. The program was sponsored by the Home Culture club and was especially enjoyed by all. Mrs. C. E. Eggertson, club president welcomed the ladies present, nstrumental music was given by Richard Murdock,. accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Lucile Stowell and Miss Geraldine Eggetrson gave a vocal solo, acompanied by Mrs. Blanch G. Hales. From a prettily arranged table, dainty refreshments were seved at the close of the meeting. About forty ladies attended. Mrs. Jennie Sanford and son of Richfield, Idaho, spent the early part of the week with her mother, Mrs. Eliza Thorn in tins city. Mrs. Sanford also attended conference in Salt Lake. Professor B. F. Larson will speak on art and the high schoo exhibit at a meeting of the Mother's Study club Friday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Ella Reynolds is hostess. ter, Ruth, to Harry E. Spink of Glendale Calif. The wedding took place in Los Angeles, March 31, at the home of the bride. Bishop J. B. Peacock officiated. The bride looked charming in a shell pink gown and carried a boquet of delphinium, which corresponded with hat, gloves and shoes. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to immediate family members and friends. Following a short wedding trip", the couple will make their home at Los Angeles. The D. U. P. organization of Los Angeles entertained at a farewell fare-well party for Mrs. Rosl Boyer the past week prior to her leaving leav-ing for a several month's visit with relatives and friends in Utah. Mrs. Lawrence Clark and dadjr--ter, Janice spent the week-end in southern Utah, with Mr. Clark who is working on a construction job at Toquerville. She also vised her sister, Mrs. Veil Hancock and other relatives and friends there. Guy H. M Musser of Salt Lake and -Joseph M. Rothe of Lehi, missionary companions of F. Berne Kindred acompanied thei latter to his home from conference Monday, and spent the day visit ing at the Kindred home and at the high school art exhibit. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Caldwell of Hollywood, California were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Packard one day last week. Mr. Caldwell is president of the Hollywood L. D. S. staiie. Leon Bird who is employed with the Reynolds-Ely construction ocmpany at San Francisco, spent Friday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bird. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gatherum of Salt L,ke were guests Friday of Mrs. Gatherum's mother, Mrs. Rhoda Beardall and family here. Mrs. Josephine S. Hubbard and little daughter of Richfield, Idaho is visiting he grandmother, Mrs. Eliza Thorn and other relatives in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Averett entertained enter-tained members of the Friendly Circle and their partners at a .anyon party Saturcay evening. The time was spent with card games, Mrs. Frank Holmes ana Arthur Wing receiving high score prizes, Mrs. Morris Richmond and |
