Show High School News Items BY CLAKA HAKS1ER Ralph Erickson's Dance Band, special programs and .decorations will feature the Annual. Senior Hop to be held Friday, April 13 in the Memorial hall. Grant Alleman, class president, is in charge of the arrangements. A tennis association has been organized this spring with the following officers: president, La Mar Weight; secretary, Delia Baxter; court manager, George Bird. There will be two tournaments. A preliminary one to secure the best players for the team. This started April 9. A high school tournament will immediately follow the preliminary one and a champion for the school will be chosen. Dr. LeRoy E. Cowles, dean of the lower division at the U. of U. gave a talk "After High School What" to the senior students Friday, Fri-day, April 6. Mr. Plumber of the speech department gave two readings. The State Junior Livestock Show will be held ot Spanish Fork April 17, IS and 19. This show includes in-cludes almost every kind of live-1 stock. A judging team of nine will go from Springville. The band and orchestra will enter the contests at the Invitational Invita-tional Meet at Provo Saurday, April 14. The band will enter both the concert and marching contests. Others who are entering the contests are boys quartet, mixed quartet, girls trio, boys and girls glee clubs, mixed chorus, woodwind quintet, string quartet, trunipet trio and about 15 solos. This is a preparatory contest for the contest to be held at Price April 20 and 21, Some outstanding people who have visited the art recently are Lee Green Richards, Salt Lake City; Franz Braz, Hollywood; Gordon Cope, Florence Ware, Salt Lake City; Olaf Moller, Rupert, daho; Henri Moser, Logan. People have been to see the exhibit ex-hibit fom all the surrounding states and a few have been here from countries in Europe. |
