Show WOUND FROM GUN SHOT PROVES FATAL Funeral services for Elmer Hatfield Hat-field 33, who died of a gun shot wound, at the family residence Tuesday morning, will be conducted con-ducted Friday at 2 p. m. in the L. D. S. Second ward chapel. Mr, Hatfield was found dead in the living room of the home, by his step-mother, Mrs. Sarah Hatfield, Hat-field, who came into the room to investigate the shot. Indications are that a single shot 22. caliber rifle, which Mr. Hatfield was inspecting, was ac-cidently ac-cidently discharged as he started to sit down on a small cot in the room. The bullet lodged in his right temple and he fell over striking his head on a nearby stove. Death was instantaneous the attending physician stated. Sheriff E. G. Durnell, County Attorney At-torney W. Stanley Dunford, City Marshall Melvin Cherrington and Dr. V. M. Sevy investigated the accident. Mr. Hatfield was born at Mapleton, Maple-ton, September 18, 1900, a son of the late Joseph and Betsy Koyle Hatfield. He moved to Springville several years ago. He was a farmer. farm-er.
