Show f X'. - - 4 :v 7 Kristina Hamilton and Shawn Hemphill Hemphill and Hamilton announce February wedding Kristina Rose Hamilton will become be-come the bride of Shawn Glen Hemphill in a wedding ceremony, Saturday, Feb. 4 in the Vemal 4th LDS Ward Chapel. Kristina is the daughter of Kyle and Pricilla Jewkes and Shawn is the son of Leon and Sharlene Hemphill, all of Vernal. The couple will be honored at a Ames and Bristol to exchange vows in St. PauVs Corey Dawn Ames, daughter of Donald L. and Ann J. Ames, will become the bride of Keith J. Bristol, son of Bruce and Darlccn Bristol, all of Vernal, in a wedding ceremony, ceremo-ny, Feb. 4 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The couple will be honored at an open house at the home of the Robert Robbins Robbins, 80 years young Robert Lowell Robbins, who was born in Vernal on Jan. 30, 1915, to John and Lottie Robbins, will celebrate cele-brate his 80th birthday. He has two brothers and six sisters; sis-ters; Alice Wall, Mabel Robbins, Afton MacKay, Merle Eaton and Wes Robbins all of Vernal and Vclda Hadlock of New Braunfels, Texas. One brother, Ed Taylor and a sister, Violet Gardner, have passed away. Robbins married Ardith Hadlock on Oct. 25, 1937 and raised five children together: Darylene Machado, Salt Lake City, and Dan Robbins, Janet Hatch, Gale Robbins and Pat Yadon, all of Vernal. They have 32 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren with two more grandchildren grand-children on the way. He worked as a truck driver, service ser-vice station manager, oil field worker work-er in Uintah County and for the Forest Service for the last eight years. From April to November he has worked as a shop hand. Robbins enjoys hunting, fishing and wood carving and having his family around him. He has held several sev-eral positions as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His family will honor him on his birthday, Jan. 28. V r . Kristina graduated from Rangcly High School and Shawn is a 1992 graduate of Uintah High School. Corey works for Arby's and Keith for Basin's Best Apartments. The newlyweds will continue to make Vemal their home. Golden Age News Seniors to travel to Wendover by Ada Murray Wilkins Buslines has a trip to Wendover, Nev. planned for March 25, returning, March 26. Lynn Truman played the drums for Dale Ross during the dance last Friday night The dances are held each Friday beginning at 8:30 p.m. and are not only for seniors, but for anyone who wishes to have a good time. JaNiel Gardner and Wayne Hall entertained at lunch last Friday. They sang songs and accompanied themselves with their guitars. First place winners on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at bingo were Venna Barrett and Lorna Holmes with four games each. On Friday, Dec. 20, Norma Simper, Berta Slaugh and Marie Smuin were first place winners also with four games each. Winning the most games for the month of December on Tuesday, was Simper. Williams, son of Eugene and Diana Williams. They will be married Saturday, Jan. 28 in the Provo LDS Temple. They will be honored at an open house on Saturday, Feb. 4 in the Tridell LDS Ward Chapel. Marketing students place second Although the stock market was shaky last fall, a team of four Uintah High students made $10,548 in ten weeks. They will not see the money because they competed with teams state-wide in an educational program called Stock Market Game. Trent Walker, team captain, John Wright, Ron Bowden and Steve Murphy were honored on Jan. 20, 1995, at an awards banquet in Salt Lake City, when they received the second-place award in the high school division. Also in attendance were Wayne Dittmore, their teacher, Superintendent Grant Drollinger and members of the State Board of Education, the Utah Council on Economic Education and the Utah Current Topics Members of the Current Topics Club met Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the home of Corrinc Pease with Colleen Markin as co-hostess. Twenty-two members were present Lynda Anderson gave the current topic and Wilma Webb presented the program on a book entitled, 'Two Old Women" by Velma Wallace. Escalante Camp Jensen The Escalante Camp of the DUP held their monthly meeting Tuesday at the home of Vera Snow. Nine members, were present with four guests, Mary Ann Snow, Kay Hunting, Gloria Allen and Vema Murray. Captain Sylvia Slaugh was in charge and read some of the History of Jensen, by Mada Dudley. Vema Murray gave a history, Reminiscences of Pioneer Children. The next meeting will be Feb. 21 at the Jensen Water office.
