Next Saturday, February 9. the Chautauqua circles and-all club women will have the pleasure of having in their midst, field secretary of Chautauqua, Chautau-qua, Miss Meddle O. Hamilton, who has 'specialized in literature for many years and is considered among the very best platform lecturers. Many Ogdenites will remember Miss Hamilton Hamil-ton as the efficient and charming lecturer lec-turer who conducted the Round Table talks several years ago in Ogden when the Chautauqua assembly was held at Gleuwood park. Miss Hamilton is onroute to the Pacific Pa-cific coast and her time is well taken up In each city she visits as all Chautauqua Chau-tauqua readers and club women are always anxious to hear her and entertainments enter-tainments are given in her honor everywhere. On Saturday afternoon the Vincent circle will entertain for the distinguished lady and all Chautauqua Chau-tauqua readers and club women are invited to be present while Saturday evening Mrs. Cora Clark Stephens and Ogden circle readers will give a social affair at the University club to which all members of the C. L. S. C, University Uni-versity club and those of the public who are Interested, are invited to attend. at-tend. The Amanda Smith company of the Daughters of Pioneers . held an interesting inter-esting meeting last Thursday at 2:30 o'clock with Mrs. Marian Johnson, 2012 Farr avenue. Mrs. Evelyn West ga.ve the topic, "A Modern Home" which was discusse'd by the company members, after which two songs wero sung by Miss Leona Johnson, the first entitled "I'll Be Gone for a Long, Long Time," and the setfond "An Old-Fashioned Couple." Mrs. Elnora Wother-spoon Wother-spoon was the board member and two visitors, Mrs. Allred and Mrs. Ferrin were present. ! Entro Nous Club. ' Mrs. William Douglas was hostess to the Entro Nous club ladles at her Home, Wo M-worny-inm sireet, yesterday yester-day afternoon, the ladles spending a busy afternoon at their knitting. The seven members of this club, which meets every two weeks, are devoting, de-voting, much of their time to Red Cross knitting. In a remarkably short time they finished three complete sets and by the next meeting will have completed three more sets. The club's next meeting will be held with Mrs. Frank Nichols, Friday, February Feb-ruary 15. Child Culture Club. Mrs. Lillian Kennedy, Mrs. Grace Herrlngton and Mrs. Edna Nichols will be hostesses to the Child Culture club, Thursday, February 7, at 2:30 o'clock In the Bertbana, Mrs. J. S. Carver will give a book rovlow. Federated W. C. T. U. February 6th the" State presldont of the W. C. T. Methodist Ladies' Aid. Sterling Hall section of the Methodist Metho-dist Ladies' Aid society met at the home of Mrs. J. J. Malone last Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. at 2 o'clock, when about thirty ladies were present to do Red Cross sewing and knitting. K. C. K, Club. One hundred members of the younger young-er set spent a delightful, evening at dancing, Tuesday of this week when the K. C. K. club entertained at a dancing party In their new home on Grant avenue. A splendid program of dance selections was given and refreshing re-freshing punch and wafers served. St. Joseph's Sewing Society. The ladles of St. Joseph's Sewing society will meet next Thursday, February Feb-ruary 7, in the church hall with Mrs. Maytor J. Healy as hostess. Past Noble Grand Club. The Past Noble Grand club ladies will meet with Mrs. Brown on Thursday Thurs-day afternoon, February 21. Girls' Friendly Society. The Girls' Friendly society of the Episcopal church met In the guild hall last Tuesday and devoted the time to Red Cross sewing and knitting. Home Culture Club. Ladies of the Home Culture club met In the Red Cross rooms In the First National bank building last Thursday and spent a busy few hours in doing Red Cross bandage work and other sewing. Utopia Club. Mrs. W. F. Madsen of 916 Twenty-seventh Twenty-seventh street, has hostess to the Utopian Uto-pian club Wednesday afternoon of this week. 'The club ladles are doing Red CrosB work and are accomplishing much, along these lines. They meet every two weeks. Martha Society. Mrs. E. O. Wattls was hostess to the Martha society last Monday at the regular reg-ular business meeting. Sewing Club. About ten members of Mrs. William Cole's sewing club met at her home, 3544 Washington avenue, Wednesday afternoon of this week and spent an enjoyable afternoon. The Drama clubwill meet nexl Saturday, Sat-urday, February 9 at 2:30 o'clock in the Maids' and Matron's club rooms with Miss Josephine Munk and MIsb Bessie Callaghan as hostesses. The Chautauqua circles of the city will be the guests of tho Drama club at this meotlng as both are studying Goethe's books. A lecture by Prof. James S. Barker of the university faculty on "Goethe and the German Drama" will be the main feature of the program. Miss Cleone Rich will give violin selections. se-lections. Maccabee Social. Tho Ladles and Knights of the Maccabees Mac-cabees arranged a social entertainment and card party for the members of the two orders and their friends in the W. O. W. hall, last evening. The program pro-gram consisted of short addresses by Deputy Supreme Commander Winters and Dr. E. P. Mills, tho local examining examin-ing physician; some vocal selections, Instrumental selections- Alter tho-pjo- gram progressive five hundred and high five were played. District Medical Exxaminer Dr. J. C. Hanchett of Salt Lake City was present, accompanied by a party of Sir Knights from Zion. The ladles and knights are arranging arrang-ing to have entertainments at least once every month. During the month of February the committee have arranged for two entertainments. en-tertainments. A dance and card party will be held on February 15, 1918, if present plans mature. Sacred Heart Promoters. A large number of the diligent Red Cross workers of the Episcopal church met on Wednesday at the home of Mrs. A. R. Mclntyre, 25G0 Jefferson avenue. Some sowed on Red Cross garments while others knitted. 'Queen Esther j(Red Cross Auxiliary. The young ladies of Queen Esther chapter No. 3, O. E. S. will meet to do Red Cross sewing next Thursday, February Feb-ruary 7 with Mrs. Mabel Stone, 2462 Monroe avenue. Sewing Club.
