Show Nearly all the news of the Egyptian war that the American press receives comes through English channels, and consequently furnishes but meagre [meager] information of Arabi's plans and purposes, and of his methods in conducting the campaign. He appears, however, from all accounts of him, to be something of a statesman, as well as a talented and determined military leader, and to manifest the usual Mohammedan zeal. A detailed and authentic account of him, his methods and the objects he is struggling to attain, would be interesting. |
