Show SOCILTY N&VS Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp Springville will be entertained enter-tained Thursday at the home of Miss Fannie Rowland. A full attendance at-tendance of members is desired. Mrs. Rea, Straw was hostess to the Washington school teachers at a well arranged dinner at her home Thursday evening. Covers were laid for Miss Leon Cooper, Miss Hazel Williams, Miss Elda Hanson, Miss Mattie Davis, Miss Bertha Bearnson, Miss Melba Sumsion and Miss Luell Straw. The dining table was especially attractive with tall black tapers in - silver, holders at either end and place cards and favors in corresponding colors. Busy Finger club members will be guests of Mrs. Charles Porter at her home Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kindred and family and Mr. and Mrs. Will Mower attended a missionary farewell Sunday night for Rumel Cragun, who leaves soon from the Windsor ward, Tompanogos stake for the Canadian L. D. S. mission. Grant Alleman of this city left Sunday afternoon for the mission school in Salt Lake prior to going on his mission to Australia. In honor of Grant Alleman, the "M" Men of the Second ward gave a banquet, program and social in the ward hall, Friday night. Approximately 27 class members attended. On Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Binks gave a dinner in honor of Grant Alleman with guests also including Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alleman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Alleman and family and Miss Lula Hatch. In celebration of their wedding anniversary, Mr.' and Mrs. Ivan Child entertained a group of friends at their home Thursday evening. A delicious dinner was served at smal tables each being decorated with fall flowers. Progressive Pro-gressive bridge and "500" also were enjoyable features of the party with prizes from the latter game going to Mrs. Sadie Mad-sen Mad-sen of Provo and Virgil Bird, and for bridge to Mrs. Arvil Child and L. L. Baker. Other guests included. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ram-beau, Ram-beau, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Bee of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Boor-man. Boor-man. Mrs. Baker, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Friel, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wilkins. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whiting;. Arvil Child, Mr. and Mrs. Vein Crandall, Mrs. Bird Miss Marie Ward. John Fennel of Eureka and Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hoffman. One of the outstanding socials of the week was given by the junior girls of the First ward M. I. A. in the form of a banquet ban-quet for their motherK. A total of 32 members from an enrollment of 33 attended with their mathors. The girls with their leaders. Miss Blanch Crandall and Miss Leora Peterson, prepared the banquet and served it. The tables were beautifully decorated with pink' roses, one of which also was presented pre-sented to each mother as a favor. The Y. VV. M. I. A. officers of the ward and the stake leader were special guests. Miss Ileen Felix president of the class, acted 'as toastmistress and during the banquet a splendid program was given, including a play in which Louise Chilris, La Vcrn Graves, Pauline Clyde and Mary Huntington Hunting-ton took part. The Daughters of Pioneers, ; Camp Aaron Johnson will meet at the home of Mrs. Wells Crandall Thursday, November 15. All members are urged to attend. Announcement is made of the marriage of Eloise and Evelyn Metcalf, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Metcalf of this city to Freeman Bird and Russel Bird, sons of Walter Bird and Me. and Mrs. W. A. Bird, which took., place . Tuesday, at Heber City. The couples plan to make their homes here. - Miss Naomi Davenport of Bin-gin, Bin-gin, Washington, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Theron S. Hall and family here and other relatives in Provo. Among the pleasant socials of the past week was the Hallowe'en party given by Mrs. Ronald Thorpe and Helen Thorpe Thursday at the home of the latter, for members of 1 their club and partners. The rooms were tastefully decorated in Hallowe'en colors and flowers of the season. Bridge furnished entertainment, and during the games prizes were won by Mrs. Harrison Conover and Ross Bradford, Brad-ford, first; and Mrs. v. M. Sevy and Mr. Christensen of Salt Lake second favors. Luncheon was served serv-ed to the following: Dr. and Mrs. L. E. Otteson, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Claudin, Mr. and Mrs. Gene "Hales. Mr. and Mrs. Bradford, Dr. and Mils. V. M. Sevy, the latter's brother, Mr. Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Conover and the hosts and hostesses. Members of the N. I. P. club were delightfully entertained Friday Fri-day night at the home of Mrs. Marian Phillips at Provo. High score prize for the evening's game of "500" went to Mrs. Sarabell Stewart. A tasty luncheon was served to eleven members in attendance. at-tendance. In honor of Miss Mae Johnson, who is to be married to Walter Selck next Wednesday, Mrs. Wayne Johnson gave a shower.
