The bride’s parents are Douglas Shaw of North Ogden and Rebecca Shaw of Ogden. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Gregory M. Lee of Huntsville. The ceremonies were performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception followed at the Lee residence. Serving as matron of honor was Diana Meyerhoffer. Assuming the duties of best man was Peter Lee. The bride graduated from Weber High School and plans to continue her studies at the University of Utah. She is employed at American Stores in Salt Lake City. Also a graduate of Weber High School, the bridegroom served in the Canada Toronto West LDS Mission. He also plans to continue his studies at the University of Utah. After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, they will live in Salt Lake City. Tullis-Summers Curt Summers and Marcie Tullis were married Thursday in Liberty. The bride’s parents are Marlo and Nancy Tullis of Uintah Highlands. She graduated from Bonneville High School and received and Associate’s Degree from Weber State University. Parents of the bridegroom are Dave and Marilyn Summers of Eden. He graduated from Weber High School and works with his brother at S & S Excavating. After a honeymoon cruise to Mexico, they will live in Eden. Trussel-Archuleta Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Trussel of North Ogden announce the marriage of their daughter, Melissa Trussel, to Clay Archuleta. Parents of the bridegroom are John and Shelly Archuleta of Plain City, and Jeff and Kathy McGilton of Huntsville. A garden wedding and reception were held Saturday, August 28, at the home of Gene and Georgia Tanner of Pleasant View, the bride’s grandparents. Matron of honor was Melanie Trussel. Bridesmaids were Lori Aviles and Bambi Saxton. Best man was Craig Smith, with Aaron Pratt and Allen Hoskins as groomsmen. She graduated from Weber High School, LDS Seminary and attended Weber State University. She is employed with Calendar Systems Inc. and is a dancer for the Utah Jazz. He is also a graduate of Weber High School and attends Weber State University. He is employed with Parker Hannifin Corp. After they honeymoon to Jackson, Wyoming, they will reside in North Ogden. Elder Daniel Brad Vause, son of Brad and Sharon Vause of Eden, has been called to serve in the California San Fernando, Spanish Speaking Mission. His mission farewell was held on August 29 at the Eden I Ward. Returning Missionaries Elder Matthew Thomas Cazier, son of Chuck and Janet Hoffmann of Liberty, and Ben Cazier of Phoenix, Arizona, is returning this month from serving in the Chili Santiago North Mission. His homecoming address will be given October 10 at 2:50 p.m. at the Liberty III Ward LDS chapel in Eden. Elder Shane Aaron Francis, son of Larry and Shanna Francis of Eden, is returning September 30, from serving in the California, Ventura Mission. His homecoming address will be given October 24 at 10:50 a.m. at the Eden II Ward LDS Stake Center in Eden. Elder Nathan R. Stoker, son of Robert and Shawnie Stoker of Liberty, returned from serving in the Spain Barcelona Mission. His homecoming address was held September 5, at the Liberty II Ward chapel in Eden. Birthdays Story – The family of Erma Bell Rawson Story celebrated her 90 th birthday with a family party at her old home in Liberty. She was born in Napha, Idaho on Aug 25, 1909, a daughter of William and Nancy Rawson. She married Charles “Chuck” Story in Farmington on October 10, 1925. Their vows were later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 29, 1979. She has been an active member of the LDS Church. She is a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was a volunteer at McKay-Dee Hospital. Her children and their spouses are Juana and Sherman Bailey, Douglas Story, Chuck and Dixie Story, Brent and Elaine Story, Charlene and Donald Todd, and Grant and Beverly Story. A son, Dan Story, died July 7, 1992. She has 28 grandchildren, 70 greatgrandchildren and nine great-greatgrandchildren. One grandchild and two great-grandchildren are deceased. Obituaries Kenneth Davidson-Ogden Canyon-Kenneth Davidson, age 93, died Friday, August 13, 1999 after a long illness. He was born in Ogden, Utah, March 24, 1906, the son of Max and Emily Davidson. He married Leola Logan, April 12, 1947 in Tucson, Arizona. He was a graduate of Ogden High School and attended the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon; the Chicago Art Institute; and the Chicago Academy of Art. He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Weber State College. He and his father, together with his sister, Ruth K. Briggs, established the Ogden Distributing Company that was in the business for many years. Later he worked as deputy assessor for the Weber County Assessor’s Office. He was well known in the business community, in civic and community affairs, and in the art world. Mr. Davidson was prominent as a professional watercolorist. Throughout his life he attended many conferences and workshops related to painting. Mr. Davidson received many honors and awards for his paintings and exhibited in a number of galleries throughout Utah. He was a past president of the Palette Club, past president of the Utah Watercolor Society, and associated with many Utah artists in Salt Lake City for many years. He was also past president of the Exchange Club, was active in the Ogden Junior Chamber and Ogden Chamber of Commerce, and was a lifetime member of the Ogden Elks Lodge No. 719 in Ogden, Utah. Ken was a member of the Weber Club and the Ogden Gold and Country /Club. He was a member of Weber Lodge No.6 F and AM; member of El Kalah Shrine Temple AAON MS, Salt Lake City; a member of the Ogden Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and both parents. He enjoyed his painting, reading, working in his garden and being with his many friends. Ken is survived by his wife, Leola and several nieces and nephews; Joan Domingue, Lafayette, Louisiana; Emily Shupe, Ogden; Ross P. Game, Napa, CA; Emily Frashuer, Belleville, IL; Maxine Schmalenberger, Davis, CA; Joe Littlefield, Shreveport, Louisiana; Tom Harris, Leone, Mexico; Rebecca Christian, Penellas, FL; Jennie Lee Fry, Gulfport, FL; Bart McGhee, Acworth, Georgia. Matthews-South Ogden- Darrell Dale Matthews, 61, died Thursday, July 22, 1999 at Ogden Regional medical Center following a Births Brandon R. and Megan Weaver of Liberty had a baby girl on August 9. Brad and Catherine Allen of Huntsville had a baby girl on August 14. long struggle with mental illness. He was born September 23, 1937, in Ogden, a son of Dale C. and Ellarie Carter Matthews. Darrell married Deborah Cooley on August 21,1968 in Huntsville. He was reared and educated in Huntsville, graduating from Weber High School. He also graduated from Utah State University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in music. Darrell taught music at Bear River High School, Weber High School, Cedar City High School and South Ogden junior High. He enjoyed music and was a guest soloist on many occasions and was a member of the Ogden Concert Band. He took joy in playing musical instruments and sharing his love of music with his students. Darrell also worked as a nonfoods manager for Smith’s Food King for 17 years. Surviving are his wife, Deborah, of South Ogden; his children, Greg Matthews, Ogden; Darren (Nancy Wong) Matthews, Colorado; Corey (Stacy) Matthews, Roy; Michelle Matthews, Ogden; one grandson, Carson Dale Matthews. Darrell is also survived by his mother, Ellarie Matthews, Ogden; and three brothers, Kent L. (Renae) Matthews, Morgan; Steven C. (Danna) Matthews, Ogden; Gary L. (Doreen) Matthews, Roy. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale C. Matthews and his brother, Chris Matthews. Internment, South Morgan Cemetery. Father David (Willard) KinneyHuntsville – Father David (Willard) Kinney, 91, died Tuesday, august 17, 1999 at Columbia Ogden Regional Hospital. He was born September 24, 1908 in Frazier, Colorado. His parents were Daniel Kinney and Emma nee Schwartz. He was the youngest of six children and the last to die. The father died of a heart attack when Willard was a teenager; the mother died of cancer in 1930. He attended Catholic grade schools in Colorado. After graduating from high school, he attended St. Thomas Seminary in Denver. He was ordained a priest in Los Angeles, California, in 1937. Shortly after ordination he went to serve in the Diocese of Tucson, Arizona, where he filled various pastoral duties for twelve years. On September 8, 1949, he entered Holy Trinity Abbey, Huntsville, Utah, where he served the Trappist community in various capacities as a carpenter, bookbinder, printer and porter. In 1973, he went to Phoenix and served as chaplain of nursing homes until 1980. After returning to the monastery, he served as porter and counselor to many who came to the monastery and was especially helpful to many in taking the fifth step of the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. In recent years, back trouble restricted his activities, and he needed the help of an electric cart. He had a special devotion to the Virgin Mary and was faithful in attending daily prayers with his fellow monks right up to the time of his last hospitalization.
