K & ALL SENIOR citizens of these two communities are invited to attend. Eugene Tolman is president in charge. In addition to this monthly dinner being served at the Davis High School Cafeteria, Mr. Tolman reminds the senior citizens that various classes and activities are available to all senior citizens of North Davis County at the Heritage Center in the library building in Clearfield. THERE IS also pinochle, painting, food preparation, pool is taught to men and women which is a popular class, bowling at Lakeside Lanes, as well as programs on probate and trusts which are held to aid the senior citizens with those legal areas. The center has been open a year and is located in the basement of the building at 562 South 1000 East. Clearfield. This includes facilities for serving meals, TV lounge area, pool tables for recreations and classes being are are welcome. There is sewing instruction, ceramics, macrame, lapidary instruction, needlework, and they even take one's blood pressure one day a week. MR. AND MRS. Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary sorority for women educators. IN 1975 there were over 1650 chanters and 60,000 members in all fifty states plus chapters have been chartered in the Dist. of Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Mexico and Jamaica. Membership in Alpha Delta Kappa is limited to 10 percent of the women teachers in a given locale, a woman must have taught at least three years and must be recommended by an active member. ALPHA Delta Kappa sponsors several scholarships. The International Teacher Education (ITE) scholarship provides arrangements for as many as seven young women to be brought to the U.S. each year from lands abroad for their final year of study.
