The band performed a show entitled Take Me Home featuring Take Me The Home, Country Roads, Ballad of Jed Clampett, and a John Denver Medley. The show contained an exciting combination of band formations and flag drills. The Davis Band also participated in a mass band performance that night at half time, including all the bands, accompanying flag and drill groups and the University Band on the Rice Stadium field. THE MASS BAND played, The Beat Goes On and Id Like to Teach the World to Sing, conducted by Gregg Hanson, director of the University Ute Marching Band. Other activities of the day included drum major and flag clinics, banquet and com- bined jazz concert. THE WINNING band was Central High School from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Second place went to Roy High School Band. The winning band performed their show at pregame of the U of U - UTEP game that night. After 14 years. . .
