Show J. W. Gillman Director of Public Welfare Commission Due to his thoroughly competent compe-tent management and creative ability, Mr. J. W. Gillman, director direct-or of the public welfare commission, commis-sion, has proved his interest in the welfare, progress and happi ness of the people in this state. There are 350 employes in this department and they spend an average of $600,000 a month. He was born in Pleasant Grove, Utah, February 21, 1885. He attended the public schools at Pleasant Grove and the Brigham Young university. He has always been interested in water rights, and he was one of the pioneers in putting water in Orem 20 years ago. He is president of the Deer Creek project, director of the Echo project on the Weber river, and has served 10 years on water projects. |
