I vif - B Gollinsia, fl m The Oollinsias are free flower- fl ' ing, hardy annuals, the flower fl stalk being one foot to eighteen fl inches in height, and have flowers B in whorls, and several of these around each flower stem. I The Portulacca is a hardy oreep- I ing annual of easy cultivation m with flowers of almost every color I imaginable. The best soil for its I growth is a sandy loam. This is I a valuable acquisition to any flow- I er garden. r Portulacca. Dahlia. The Dahlia is a beautiful flower, are of various colors, and ore both double and single. Bulbs should be planted as soon a3 danger from frost is past. The Pseonies are perfectly hardy and will succeed in most kinds of soil, but rich soil gives the best results. ' Yucca, or "Oose." Some of our readers are well acquainted with the variety of Yucca or "oose" as commonly called, here illustrated. In early spring it sends forth a long spike of flowers which are very beautiful beau-tiful and would add to the beauty of our flower gardens if they wer.e placed there. The sweet Bocket is a yety hardy biennial, bearing clusters of single flowers which are quite fragrant fra-grant during the evening. ' ; f4lBr Tropseolum. The Tropseolums are among our prettiest and best climbers, and are g easy culture, and on rich soil plants will grow from 10 to 12 feet high, during the season. |
