Show Much Interest Taken In Clean Town Canpiioi 0 The Clean Town Campaign, which began a week ago, is progressing nicely. . Each ward has been divided into stricts and the captain and aids of each district are taking a great deal of interest in seeing that their part of the city presents a neat appearance. The Third ward seems to be ahead so far in the campaign. It is a fact that most of the Third ward people enjoy dancing and the ward that shows the most effort in this campaign will be guests at the dance on the night of Arbor day. The Third ward will work bard for the honors. The other wards have began their intensive drive, the Second ward, under und-er two captains, is competing with Wca other as well as working for the free dance tickets. The First Tard are apt to surprise the other wards as they are saying very little but may be doing much. The Chamber of Commerce has been waiting for some time to announce an-nounce the purchase of the Lyde Brown property as additional park space and also to clean up an unsightly un-sightly corner that has been an eye sore to Main street's progress. Although Al-though unofficially announced they are hoping that this project will be ; cleaned up during this clean town campaign. A payment has been made 1 on the property and unless the court ! should rule against it, or some other techenieal thing happens, the plan of the Chamber of Commerce will be1 put I over. A call for volunteer workers will . be made and a group of interested workers will soon clean up the corn-er, corn-er, pull down the old house and re-I re-I move it; cut down old trees and level the ground ready for parking. This project has been the incentive for the united and progressive labors of the Chamber of Commerce members for a number of years. The result of their untiring efforts is about to be leun&eu. i lie luxiyvi ctuu v;iljt wujiwi are also behind the clean up campaign, cam-paign, all city property -coming in for their share of work. The schools are always ready to join in civic affairs. The church property will be taken J care of. We are looking forward to i the most thorough campaign ever I launched in this city. Remember that j no trash, (meaning old cans and trash that cannot be burned) will be hauled off by the city not later than April 13th. Lets clean up on our city, every acre of it, and keep it clean throughout through-out the year. Our next campaign following this should be the planting scouts is having for their slogan, "Every scout should plant a tree." It has been suggested that Mont Morancy cherry trees be planted along the highway between Provo and Pleasant Grove. This would add beauty to one of the most beautiful highways in Utah, besides growing a very profitable profit-able crop. The boy scouts will be on hand to help all widows and aged people. If your neighbor seems slow in this clean up campaign, encourage him to better efforts, that his home lot will not mar the beauty of adjoining property..
