Show - OBITUARY Mrs. .Tolin Hiekey. With profound regret we record the death of Mrs. Mary Melody Hickey, wife of John Hickey, vice president of the Salt Lake Security & Trust company. com-pany. The sad event took place at Holy Cross hospital at 1 o'clock last Saturday afternoon. Death was the climax of a long, lingering illness, which she bore with wonderful patience and Christian fortitude. for-titude. Mrs. Hickey, who was a member mem-ber of the Altar society of St. Mary's cathedral, as well as the League of the Sacred Heart, was truly a Christian Chris-tian woman, an ideal wife and a true, affectionate mother. The community in which she dwelt Is poorer for her having been taken from it. On Monday solemn requiem mass was celebrated for the repose of her soul by the Rev. Father W. K. Ryan, at which St. Mary's Altar society so-ciety members of the sacred Heart and a great number of friends attended. attend-ed. Mrs. Hickey had made Salt Lake her home for thirteen years and was esteemed most highly by all who knew her. She was born in Detroit 59 years ago, but since then had lived where she was highly thought of by a host of friends. Mrs. Hickey had devoted de-voted much time to the study of varied var-ied arts The body of Mrs. Hickey was taken to St. Paul, Minn., Monday forenoon for funeral services and interment Her husband, John Hickey, and son, Dan D. Hickey, who survive her accompanied ac-companied the body. May her soul rest in peace! Mrs. J. M. Sjotlahi. On Monday Mrs. Christina Sjodahl, wife of J. M. Sjodahl, editor of the Deseret News, was suddenly called by death. Up to 4 o'clock she seemed to be in the best of health, when she was suddenly seized with a violent headache, to which she succumbed shortly after, she leaves to mourn her lost her husband and tw0 daughters, daugh-ters, Lila and Vera, to whom the In-termountain In-termountain Catholic extends sincerest sincer-est sympathy. |
