Show FARM LOANS ARE OPERATING The charter for the Federal Land Bank association of Gunnison Valley has been received and already tha officers have, begun operations in the way of making loans to the farmers. The first three loans, aggregating 1 2,000, were negotiated and after being legally passed upon by tho board, were made the first of thU week. Other applications are in and many more arc expected. The business men and farmers of the valley have been arranging for the past two years and a half to become be-come identified with the federal loan scheme and their efforts to get the loan scheme through has at last borne successful fruits. Throughout the United States, where the federal loan scheme is in operation, it is proving highly satis'.-aciory and many a farmer has been benefited. The officers, comprising Chris. A. Peterson as president, and E. Bards-ley, Bards-ley, as secretary, have worked incessantly inces-santly on the proposition for Gunnison Gunni-son Valley and with the nominal interest in-terest of five and one-half per cent, which the government charges for the use of the money, makes an exceptionally ex-ceptionally tempting offer for those who wish to improve their farms to the highest possible standard of efficiency. |
