Show SEES MUCH SERVICE. Silas Newman, volunteer from Gunnison, and who saw service In France, has returned from "over seas" and is now at his home with his mother, Mrs. S. E. Newman, in Gunnison. Mr. Newman, like all of the boys who served with Uncle Sam, is glad to be back and is doubly glad that the "Hun" was squelched. He enlisted more than eighteen months ago and wears three service stripes. Mr. Newman was first assigned to the 41st division, and later was transferred to a non-combatant unit and while not in active battle, saw much of the fighting, as his duties were with the supply companies, carrying officers, supplies and munitions muni-tions to the front. Mr. Newman expects ex-pects to remain in Gunnison indefinitely. |
