MEYER TO DISCUSS LANGUAGES Senior High School P T A Session Called for Wednesday Wed-nesday Evening at Library An evaluation of foreign languages lan-guages in the high school will be' made at the meeting of Senior high school PTA, which will be held Wednesday evening in the school library, beginning at 8 o'clock. o'-clock. Miss Aldyth Thain, program chairman, announces the following follow-ing program: a dramatization by j French students, a report of the j status of language study in Utah; as compared with that of surrounding sur-rounding states, and a .talk by Dr. George Meyer of the USAC on language study. A new feature of the organization organiza-tion and one that promises to be I most delightful, will be the first appearance of .the., PTA . chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Laura Shumway. The chorus will sing,, "Roll, River," "Dear Old Dad," I "Oh, Irish Hills," and "Slumber I Song." The members include Mrs. I William E. Pehrson, Mrs. William I Evans, Jr., Mrs. A. G. Baleson, Mrs. A. T. Henson, Mrs. P. H. iBarkdull, Mrs. W. W. Richards, j Mra. Wallace R.', Tolman, Mrs. Frances Smith, Mrs. E. Allen Bat man, Mrs. P. A. Pedersen, Mrs. M. V. Coombs, and Mrs. J. Geo. Smith. Mrs. John Broberg is the ! accompanist. j Besides singing for the local; meetings the chorus will go to! Salt Lake City to join the national na-tional PTA chorus in- furnishing music for the national convention to be held there May 15 to 21, according to Mrs. G. E. McDonald. McDon-ald. Elections of officers for next year will also be on Order of business. |
