Show THE VOICE OF CACHE IS HEARD The appeal of Cache county farmers has been answered by Governor Herbert E. Maw who has shown a sympathetic sympa-thetic attitude towards necessary rural road improvement. This is manifest by a recent announcement that the Clark-ston Clark-ston road would be given immediate attention. The work of local men and organizations in bringing this matter to the attention of the Governor is to be commended. com-mended. It is highly probable that these steps, taken prudently, pru-dently, will do more for this section of the country. While our main job is of course to center all our efforts ef-forts on national defense the statement of the Governor is constructive, for he declared that he was in accord in principle with the idea that roads should be built where they were vitally necessary and not alone on the recommendations recom-mendations of engineers, who obviously have an over all plan. Since the accomplishment of Dr. W. W. Merrill and. others brought action with such dispatch it would seem that the Governor has an ear for Cache county and that assistance is obtainable through cooperative efforts of local and state agencies. It is to be hoped that continued enthusiasm can be maintained to see just what Cache county can secure to promote our general welfare. This, we believe, is a start in the right direction. Add to this initial movement, an intelligent planning and wholesome whole-some public action and! Cache may get some of those things which we all know to be desirable. |
