Show Pag 2A, lakld Rvlw, July 8, 1981 Clearfield Fixes Snag in Ordinance has cleared Dike Break Floods Basements A FARMINGTON water dike break poured two to three feet of water into the basement of the Doug and Tamera Moss home at 553 W. 250 S., and the crawl space of the Rulon and Tauna Homer residence at 586 W. 250 S., Thursday. The dike broke when seven acre feet of water entered the five acre foot capacity ditch and found a rat hole or squirrel hole and flooded, said Keith Jensen, manager of Weber Basin Water Conservancy District. Weber Basin has never maintained the dike, said Moss, whose home was flooded the first time two years ago during construction. They dont maintain it at all. They sprayed the weeds and thats all." The was flooding situation aggravated when a water representative took more than an hour to arrive to turn the water off, said Moss. That shouldnt have happened, said Jensen. He said that they have a man with a radio in his truck and that he would have to verify why there was a delay. When questioned about the repair problems, Jensen stated that Weber Water would have taken care of the problems last fall, but that the property owners and developer, Stanley M. Layton Man Held On Assault Charge LAYTON Hill AFB Staff Sargent David Miller was arrested and later charged with aggrevated assault after allegedly attacking a friend of his estranged wife in his wifes home Saturday. The friend was watching the home while Mrs. Milier was away in Atlanta Ga. and had entered it early that morning, Layton Police said. Miller allegedly grabbed the woman and attempted to drag her into a side room, while carrying a gun, police said. The woman managed to escape by way of a porch and called the police from a Dr. Burns Layton Police Chief Lamar Chard reported that Miller had left the premises before police arrived. Several hours later his car was spotted in front of his Layton home, an apartment at 1591 W. 1600 N. The home was surrounded by police and Miller was called by Chief Chard and Mrs. Miller. He was talked into surrendering by Chief Chard at about 1 p.m. A supply of weapons and ammunition was found inside. However, the chief said that he believed Miller had no intension of hurting anyone. IN CLEARFIELD, FARMINGTON Jurisdiction over Barney Curtis Hall, 17, who is accused of murdering his stepdaughter on May 29, will be decided during a hearing set for Aug. 25 in 1st District Juvenile Court Hall was arraigned in Farmington. June 29 in juvenile court. Halls attorneys are asking that he be tried as a juvenile, while the Davis County Attorneys office has requested that Hall be certified as an adult. The county attorneys office asked for the hearing. Hall is accused of second degree murder in the death of Amy Lisa Anaya, 22 months. The child died at Primany Childrens Hospital May 29 'and a report by the State Medical Examiners office said a blow to the head was the cause of death. Hall and his wife, Jennifer, the childs mother, were living in Kaysville at the time of the incident. Before the hearing, Hall is scheduled to undergo a battery of psychological tests administered by the Davis County Mental Health Center and psychiatrists selected by his attorney. Hall is presently in the custody of his parents in Layton.
