Show Jill DeBuck Receives Energy Solutions Scholarship Award ' j I i f " ' - ' - - - " 1 Jill DeBuck, daughter of Cam and Shaunna DeBuck of Pleasant Grove, was awarded the EnergySolutions Scholarship Scholar-ship worth $2,000. The EnergySolutions Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of math, science, sci-ence, and engineering education. educa-tion. Jill's Physic teacher Jim Clark knew of her interest to major in these areas and told her she should apply. Jill filled out an application, applica-tion, submitted two letters of recommendation and wrote an essay on President Obama's energy plan. Her 2,000 word essay illustrated what his plan entailed and how it differed from the previous energy plan. The EnergySolutions Scholarship is available to sophomores throughout Utah. One student is selected from each high school. Jill admitted she was surprised she received the scholarship because her other friends who applied are extremely ex-tremely bright. "I didn't really consider that I would actually get it," she honestly said. Jill DeBuck was awarded the EnergySolutions Scholarship worth $2,000. "We called her "Brainiac" from the time she was little," stated her Grandmother Cheryl Boomgaarden. Jill's favorite fa-vorite subjects in school are math and Physics. She especially loves anything that challenges her. Jill was excited to find out that most colleges in Utah will match her scholarship. She plans to attend Utah State University after she graduates and pursue a degree in Biology! Biol-ogy! Jill wants to be a genetic engineer and her brother teases teas-es her that she will be a food breeder. |
