Bye singled, Bryan Dickinson was hit by a Micah Lisonbee pitch and then both Jacob Nelson and Jim Little had RBI-singles. A Jason Stoelk double helped the Bruins to anoth- next inning. Having reached first base on an infield error that inning, Dara Grob soon stole home. A one run single from teammate Ashley Duke improved the lead at 2-0. Tripling in the bottom of the inning, Francom scored a run. The next inning, Pleasant Grove sneaked ahead 3-2 on a two-run, two-run, in-the-park homer hit by Gordon. Though Hill tied the game at 3-3 on a theft of home plate in the fifth, Pleasant Grove pulled ahead 5-3 on two unearned runs in the bottom of that inning. Timpanogos couldn't be held in check. It tied the game at five on two sixth-inning sixth-inning runs made on a Kristen McCustion single and a Stephanie Richins as a classic goal keeping duel between Tiger Brandon Mann and Viking Brock DeGraff. Pleasant Grove's goalie demonstrated demonstrat-ed why the BYU Cougars wanted him so badly for the coming college season. He held off attacks led by Julio . Sanchez, Johannas Gapmeyer and Allen Preece. Mann proved to be an equal match for DeGraff by keeping Viking Jay Helquist from hitting shots into the net. It was 8-2 going into the seventh. Pinch runner Josh Fryer had a busy day running for Stoelk, the Bruin catcher. After two straight walks had brought runners home, Lauren Roderick evened the game at 8-8 while narrowly beating a throw home. With the plate umpire not calling time out right after Roderick's run, Kim Burton sneaked home to give the Vikings' their first region win of the season. Pleasant Grove and Timpanogos now share 1-4 league records. less deadlock at halftime. The 0-0 tie ended abruptly in the early second half. At the plate, Bye went 2-for-3 with a run scored. one to advance and Matt Miller, Johnson's pinch runner, run-ner, scored. Jace Bramwell was hit by a pitch to load the bases and it became obvious that Bye had one more batter to get out of the mess. However, he gave up a two-RBI single to Cole McQuarter.
